Jason Grahm – Once Bitten
Q. What made you want to get into acting?
A. I have been acting a fool ever since I was a kid. Always the center of attention, class clown, and great performer. At the tender age of ten is when I did my first play. I will never forget it, I was a dwarf. That’s right, I was one of Snow White’s dwarfs. After that performance, I remember the feeling I got from being on stage. It felt GREAT. That’s when I knew acting was for me. From that time on, I begged my mom to be in every play I could find. I enrolled in a Performing Arts High School in Atlanta, Georgia and it was there, that I knew I wanted to act for a living. But, my parents weren’t having it. They wanted me to go to college and get an education and get a REAL career. Well, I did what they wanted. I got my degree in Law, but I didn’t go to law school because I minored in theater and the acting bug just wouldn’t go away. I couldn’t get rid of it. So, after graduation I moved to New York then to Hollywood where I am now to pursue this life long dream of mine.
Q. Who do you look up to in the entertainment field?
A. Wow, there are so many people I look up to in this field. The obvious would be Sidney Poitier because he paved the way for black actors. Other people that come to mind that I would love to work with are Don Cheadle, Sean Penn, Woody Allen, Quentin Tarantino, and Spielberg just to name a few. But honestly, the list goes on and on.
Q. What’s the best piece of acting advice that you have ever received?
A. The best acting advice that comes to mind is being told that I will never make it as an actor. It feels good to prove someone wrong.
Q. Is there a television show that you are a fan of that you’d love to make a guest appearance on?
A. “Nip/Tuck,” “Six Feet Under,” “The Office,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Desperate Housewives,” anything made by David E. Kelley, “Eyes,” “Lost,” “24,” “The O.C.,” “Jake In Progress,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Fat Actress.”
