Jenn Lyon – Claws

Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

 

A) Mostly “Claws.” I’ve been in New Orleans filming since January. I also had a movie premiere at Sundance this year called Blaze. It’s directed by Ethan Hawke and it’s great. I’m trying to exclusively do projects with one-word titles.

 

Q) What is new this season on “Claws” and with your character Jennifer?

 

A) We have new villains, new rifts, new nails, new hair dos, new loves and new trouble.

 

Q) How did you feel about the rift with Desna and will we have another one?

 

A) I love Niecy [Nash] so much so I hate to beef with her. We come back together this season, but then there are forces trying to tear us apart.

 

Q) When the show first started was there a nail tech bootcamp for everyone?

 

A) There was! Bianca “Beedy” Williams (Beedy, the black nail tech) taught us everything we needed to know about nails, cuticles, acrylics, gels, stone work and free hand design – she is a genius.

 

Q) Do/did you approve of the closeness of Jenn and Hank’s friendship/affair given the circumstance for why it happened? 

 

A) I try not to judge the characters I play. I think she was trying to keep her head above water the best way she knew how.

 

Q) Do you think it was wise for Jenn and Bryce to be together knowing they both have addiction problems and could seriously fall off at any moment? Especially with kids involved?

 

A) Well, that’s tricky because they had both been sober for some years and we’re doing so great and being responsible, good parents but relapses happen, and I think depicting them is important.

 

Q) Will we meet or see Jenn’s first husband / baby daddy? 

 

A) We will see!!!

 

Q) Uncle Daddy is scary so how is Dean Norris before and after he does his scenes?

 

A) Dean Norris is both a lion and a lamb. He is fierce and wild as Uncle Daddy, but then will also have his kids on set, and is so sweet and paternal.

 

Q) I love the girl gang/sisterhood the show represents. What has been your best sisterhood moment on the show?

 

A) Oh my gosh, I don’t know if I could choose! We have cried laughing together and we have cried crying together. I will tell you that when Niecy pulled me into her trailer and she said she was getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame we marched around her trailer and yelled. I will never forget that.

 

Q) If you weren’t Jennifer, which character would you like to have played or at least be for a day?

 

A) I would love to play Uncle Daddy or Zlata (Franka Potente).

 

Q) What does your dream nail set look like?

 

A) I love a coffin shape with sort of hidden messages for wherever I am.

 

Q) Describe Season 2 of “Claws” in 5 words or less.

 

A) Savage, odd, loving, weird, and fun

A) Our fans are so wonderful! They get riled up, but also they are understanding. They are the best!!
