Jessi Case – 9-1-1: Lonestar
By: Jamie Steinberg
Q) Where do we pick up in Season 5 of “9-1-1: Lonestar?”
A) I’m not allowed to say, but you’ll know September 23rd, 8pm ET (on Fox)!
Q) Your character Leigh Ann is back. Do you recall how she was originally described to you?
A) Yes, she’s back! Leigh Ann was first described to me as down-to-earth, smart, gracious and sweet.
Q) Have you added anything to the role since you started playing her?
A) Yes, and what’s really cool about acting is that the audience doesn’t always see what’s added to a character. I have core and childhood memories that shape my portrayal of Leigh Ann, but those elements are hidden from view. While she still fits the original character breakdown, the challenges she faces may reveal some cracks in her armor.
Q) Going into this new season, were you excited to work with anyone in particular?
A) I was excited to work with Jim Parrack, Robyn Lively and Jackson Pace again. Every scene with them has been really fun—they’re just as great as they seem.
Q) “9-1-1: Lonestar” is action-packed! What were some of your favorite moments from filming?
A) Charades night in Season 4 was surprisingly action-packed. [laughs] In between takes, we’d chill in our cast chairs, playing each other mashups of our favorite songs. It was a lot of fun.
Q) After a long day of filming, how do you unwind?
A) It depends on the day but I’m definitely doing skincare, reading, laying down listening to music, journaling or watching a show with my cats.
Q) With the show ending, what has it meant to be a part of it, and did you keep any mementos?
A) Being part of a show that means a lot to the audience has been special. I didn’t keep any physical mementos, but the lessons I’ve learned and the memories I’ve made are invaluable and will stay with me.
Q) What do you think made “9-1-1: Lonestar” a fan favorite?
A) It trickles from the top. The team behind it all—the writers, showrunners and everyone involved made something pretty special.
Q) What other projects have you been working on?
A) There are some secrets I’m not allowed to share yet. But soon!
Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?
A) Awww hi! Thank you so much for supporting me and my work. I love this craft and working at it and learning and growing is my favorite and your support makes this all possible.
