By: Donna Sgro
Q) What are the recent projects you are working on?
A) Two more episodes of “Mystery 101.”
Q) You have now done and been in numerous episodes of “Mystery 101.” What have you learned by portraying this character of Amy and how has it changed you?
A) I love playing Amy. She is SO intuitive and smart. She has a bit of a super power when it comes to solving crimes. It’s also fun to play opposite Kris Polaha!
Q) What can you tease is in store for the upcoming Mystery 101 film?
A) Travis and Amy might not stay so close. [wink]
Q) What continues to move you to come back to the “Mystery 101” series?
A) I love the cast and crew and I love Hallmark. I think the scripts are smart and it’s just plain fun to do them!
Q) Kristoffer Polaha has been a staple and you have worked with him in numerous projects now. How has it been to learn from him and grow your characters as one?
A) He is a wonderful, smart actor and I always love to learn from other actors when I can. Kris teaches me things every time I work with him. We both work really hard to create moments within the script that the audience will love. Moments that aren’t necessarily written. You have to care about these people so that’s what we hope we accomplish.
Q) What were some of your favorite moments from shooting Mystery 101 as a film?
A) It’s always behind the scenes moments that are my favorite…but those are hush hush. Can’t tell all the secrets! [laughs] No, really, I think the first day of filming was my favorite just because I got to see the characters come to life.
Q) How did you shake off a long day of shooting?
A) I take a hot bath and a glass of wine.
Q) What do you think it is that makes the “Mystery 101” series such a fan favorite?
A) Kris’s cute smile. [grins]
Q) What keeps you coming back to Hallmark to do more movies?
A) I love what the brand stands for.
Q) If an inspiring actor or actress is reading this what advice would you give them if there thinking about acting themselves?
A) You can’t expect success overnight. If you really want it, work at it and ride be as rewarding as the destination. Also, keep your head on straight and be who you are, not what anyone else tells you to be.
