Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I’d say my music fits into the pop category. But we tried to keep it as real as possible. Most of the EP has live drums, guitars, and instruments.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My main influence at the moment is Holly Humberstone. She is such a brilliant writer and performer. I am a big fan of her music.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Somebody.”

A) “Somebody” is about the feeling of wanting to be someone else. Then you realize that person ALSO wants to be someone else.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think the lyrics in “Somebody” make it an incredibly relatable song. As humans, I feel like we’re all pretty self-conscious sometimes!

Q) What is your songwriting process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I usually write the music and lyrics at the same time. My favorite way to write is with just a guitar.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) On my upcoming EP, my boyfriend is the producer. He is crazy talented and if I had any ideas, he would try them out.

Q) You have an EP on the way as well entitled Fall At My Feet. What are the themes you’ll be exploring on it?

A) Fall At My Feet mostly talks about heartbreak, self-love and how those things tie together.

Q) Which track(s) are you excited to get to share with fans – if you can tease?

A) “Back In Time” is my favorite song that’s still unreleased. The production is different compared to the rest of the EP. It is less modern and falls more into a 50’s and 60’s kind of world.

Q) What emotions or messages do you hope linger with individuals who explore the beautiful music that you make?

A) Thank you for the lovely compliment! I hope my music makes people feel more confident about themselves. We’re stuck with ourselves forever, so we have to learn to like it!

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I think it would be pretty cool to sing a verse on a rap song. I grew up on “Airplanes” by B.O.B. and “Love The Way You Lie” by Eminem…so that would fulfill a childhood dream of mine! [laughs]

Q) Your short film The Noise is set to premiere at the Gasparilla International Film Festival and was inspired by your struggles with an eating disorder. What finally made you comfortable to put your journey on screen?

A) I think if more people start being open about their mental health journeys it will make it easier for everyone! By sharing my story, I hoped to remove some of the isolation people struggling may feel.

Q) What do you hope viewers take away from their time watching The Noise?

A) I hope viewers start checking in with other people more. Sometimes you can’t tell if someone is struggling or not. Something as simple as “hello” can make someone’s day. [smiles]

Q) What are the other on-screen or behind-the-screen projects you have been busy working on?

A) This year I finished writing a YA fiction novel and a feature film script! Hopefully, by next year, I’ll have more projects coming out!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you – either as a musician or an actress?

A) THANK YOU!!!! Without you guys, I wouldn’t be able to keep doing what I love. Thank you for following along and being so supportive! <3
