Q) What can you tell us about the premise for your new project Sin City Saints and about your character?

A) Sin City Saints is wild and fun. Very unpredictable. Our cast is great. I do not think you get these type of people in one cast often. It is based around a young owner who just decides to buy a team because he can. My character is a superstar rookie guard for the Sin City Saints, but when the game is taken away from him due to injury you see a different side of my character LaDarius Pope. He is more naive, sensitive and a mama’s boy.
Q) What made you want to be a part of this project?
A) Well, after I booked it, what attracted me to the project the most was it was based around sports, but also a comedy. I thought that was unique and adding Vegas was the icing on the cake.
Q) Is there anything that you added to the role that wasn’t originally scripted for you?
A) Not really, the character is so different to who I am as a person in real life that the writing did the work for itself. Chris Case is an amazing writer.
Q) You have great comedic timing, is that something that has come naturally or have you studied and honed it?
A) I could not get comedy down at first. When I first joined my acting class, I told my teacher I wanted to focus on comedy. I think what helped was watching my favorite sitcoms, the comedians in my class and my teacher just simply explaining comedy during my scenes in class. I also read a book called The Approach and it has a section on comedy that really helped me.
Q) Was there anyone you didn’t have scenes with that you wish you did, or someone you wish you had more scenes with and why?
A) I wish I had more scenes with Rick Fox. I think he is a cool guy. I watched him growing up.
Q) What do you think it is about Sin City Saints that will draw viewers in?
A) The writing is real and there are no boundaries to where it can go. You get sports and comedy. Best of both worlds and it is balanced.
Q) How was working with directors Bryan Gordon and Fred Savage and what kind of tips/guidance did they give you?
A) It was an honor! Bryan would always give me props on my acting so that kept my confidence up. Fred would also give me great notes that were simple and straight forward.
Q) What was your favorite moment to film and why?
A) The scene where my character finds out his online girl is not real. I had to shoot that scene so many times because Tom Arnold continued to make me laugh. But it was a great experience and a great laugh.
Q) You also play Theo on “Faking It,” when will the show be returning and what can you say about where we pick up with your character?
A) We still have no official air date, but soon. You will see Theo as a cop and you will see a different side of him. He is in love and has a different objective. It may make you like him more or dislike him more.
Q) Can you talk or tease about how Theo and Lauren’s relationship will evolve now that she found out he is an officer?
A) Their relationship will get tougher, but they will try to make it work.
Q) You are a part of social media, how is it getting that instant fan feedback it provides?
A) I love the feedback. I’ve got a strong back bone so it does not offend me. You have to know what the people like and dislike.
Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?
A) I appreciate the love. It keeps me going and confident in my craft. There is no entertainment without the supporters and fans so I believe we need to show as much love as they do. I am a fan of a fan. I admire people who show as much love for someone doing their job. Thank you.
