Kerry Saxena – Follow His Wild Life
Q) What are some of your most recent projects?
A) I am currently on a new TV show called “Darcy’s Wild Life” and it is on NBC’s Discovery Kids every Saturday morning.
Q) Can you tell us a little about the show “Darcy’s Wild Life” and your character Eli?
A) The whole show is about a Hollywood actress named Victoria Fields and her daughter Darcy. Victoria wants Darcy to grow up with a regular life, away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. So, she moves Darcy to a farm and she gets to know all the local kids and they become really good friends. I play Eli, he’s the local kid who has been there all his life. Victoria hires him to be the ranch help and he gets to know Darcy and becomes really good friends with her. He’s quite a bit of a klutz and is really knowledgeable about animals.
Q) What made you want to be a part of this show?
A) There is a lot of physical comedy involved with Eli and I love physical comedy. I like being really silly like Eli and there are also a lot of animals involved with our show. I really like animals! I got a chance to work with so many animals on the show.
Q) What is the atmosphere like on the show?
A) It’s always such an upbeat atmosphere. Even if we’re shooting a scene that we just can’t get right the atmosphere is still up beat. Even if it is really early in the morning and everyone just rolled out of bed, it is still just a really good atmosphere.
Q) We have interviewed Sara Paxton in the past. What is it like working with such a talented actress?
A) Sara is so much fun to work with! She’s such a gifted actress and she works well with other people. It makes it easier for all the other characters. Just the chemistry of her character is really good with all of our other characters, too. Plus, she’s just a really well rounded person.
Q) Why did you decide to go into acting?
A) Well, it is a long story. When I was really young, I had really expensive habits like skateboarding and snowboarding. My parents told me to get a job so I got a paper route, but it wasn’t going so good. I had to find another way to get money. I decided to go into modeling and I went to this agency and they asked me to go to a competition down in LA. I won that competition and I met my manager there who said I should come out to LA to try acting since I did all my impressions for her. She said I should give acting a try and it went from there.
Q) Who do you look up to in the entertainment industry?
A) I’d say all my life I’ve lived up to Jim Carey because he’s Canadian like I am and I’ve been doing all of his impressions from all of his movies since I was a little kid. I know almost every word to almost all of his movies. I’d like to work with people like Johnny Depp; he’s such a great character actor that I look up to him so much.
Q) What show would you most like to appear on and why?
A) There are so many good shows out there lately! I watch “Law and Order” every night and I’d love to make a guest appearance on that show!
Q) What do you do in your spare time?
A) In my spare time, usually I skateboard and snowboard. I have been doing them since I was four or five. Recently, in the last few years, I’ve picked up surfing. So, that is another board sport to add to the list. When I am not doing my board sports I am playing my drums or listening to music.
Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?
A) I am really happy and thankful that people even enjoy my work and what I do. I just want to say that I’m a regular kid like most of my fans. I am really happy for your support and keep watching.
