Liv Hanna – crazy
By: Gladys Luna
Q) Your latest single “crazy” only marks the release of a series of new songs scheduled for this year. Why did you choose this song to be the one to start this series?
A) I chose “crazy” as my first release of the year as it goes along with the themes that I intend to release throughout the year. “crazy” was released following “Back To Hell” and “lonely,” supporting my recent rebranding.
Q) Please tell us about the creative process behind “crazy.”
A) “crazy” is about a past situationship that I had around this time last year. They wanted a song written about them, so I sat down at my keyboard and wrote “crazy.” It was written as a piano ballad about the ups and downs of the relationship.
Q) What was your main source of inspiration behind the songwriting of “crazy?”
A) The inspiration behind “crazy” was a specific situationship that I had in my sophomore year of college. It depicts the ups and downs of the relationship and wanting to stay despite someone else’s bad habits interrupting your routine. It discusses wanting to be with someone even though you know it’s not beneficial to either of you and it’s bound to crash and burn.
Q) In order to bring this powerful song to life you partnered with producer Sam Merkin. What did you enjoy most of the process of working with him?
A) I absolutely love working with Sam Merkin! He just gets me and the visions that I’m going for with the vibe of my music. When I bring in an idea, we turn it into a complete song within three hours and it’s better than I could’ve ever imagined!
Q) What would you say it is the craziest thing you’ve done for love?
A) Hmm, this is a good question. Maybe I stayed in a situationship when I knew it wasn’t right for me? I don’t think that I’ve ever been in love “love,” so I’ll have to get back to you on that.
Q) Since there’s still a lot of your music in store for this 2024, do you have any plans to release a full album anytime soon?
A) I would love to release an album!! I have an idea of the theme and what songs it would contain, just not yet sure when I would release it. Perhaps 2025? It’s definitely on its way though, so stay tuned!!!
Q) What can you tease about the new songs that are yet to be released this year?
A) I’m so very excited about this year’s releases! I have a few songs set for the summer and am so excited for everyone to hear!
Q) Which are the Top 3 artists you would love to collaborate with in the near future?
A) Madison Beer, Sabrina Carpenter and Nessa Barrett.
Q) If you had the opportunity to explore other music genres, which ones would you choose and why?
A) I might explore some Blues, Jazz, R&B, and Soul in the future. I get inspiration from Amy Winehouse and Raye, and their unique writing styles and overlapping of genres.
Q) How do you keep yourself creatively motivated in a fast-paced industry like this one?
A) I honestly write from experience and that’s what keeps me motivated. I just have to keep living and having experiences, so I have things to write about.
Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters out there?
A) Thank you for all your support!!! I love you guys and plan to perform this summer, so hope to see you all soon!! <3
