Q) Please tell us the premise for “Hache” and about your character Silvia Velasco.

A) “Hache” is based on a true story that the creator and Showrunner Veronica Fernandez read in the newspaper about Barcelona in the ’60, which it was a commercial heroine center. The drug came from Italy to travel to USA through Barcelona’s port. With this premise she created a world around a nightclub called Albatros and Helena (Adriana Ugarte) who is a prostitute who escapes in this narco-traffic world. I play Silvia a very special, powerful and modern character for her time in the ’60 in Spain who will fall in love in the police linestory.

Q) What made you want to be a part of the series?

A) I admired Veronica’s and the producer Paco Ramos’s work for the most and the team was simply stunning, the director Jorge Torregrosa and the entire cast.

Q) Had you been aware you of Helena’s story before you started filming?

A) I didn’t know a word, sincerely.

Q) Were you familiar were any of your costars before working with them on this series?

A) I made A View From The Bridge (Arthur Miller’s play) with Pep Ambros and “Carlos V” (a TV series) with the director Jorge Torregrosa. And I knew for sure Eduardo Noriega, Adriana Ugarte, Javier Rey and Marc Martinez. The great discover is Séainín Brennan.

Q) What were some of your favorite scenes to film?

A) I love when Tonia [Richardson] and Tony Zenet sings. Music is my weakness…!!

Q) What sets “Hache” a part from shows like “Queen of The South” and “Narcos,” which are also about drug trafficking?

A) The love story for sure, Jazz, Barcelona in the ’60 where there was a hard dictature and a dark world where people were craving for freedom and needed a social life change.

Q) What do you think it is about Netflix that makes it such a great home for this new show?

A) I think Netflix is a home in a world where more and more globalization is a reality and the walls between countries are falling. So, people want more different stories, different cultures and languages and characters because this is life and the world is changing. And I think people want to open to this and Netflix take and embrace it.

Q) What is it about this show that will make it a fast fan favorite?

A) It is the Jazz and it is Swing. I love the way it is filmed, the way the camera is watching. It’s risky and bold. I love it.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of the work you do?

A) I would like to say that thank you for be there. Without the audience we don’t exist and because of it we can develop our creativity. And thank you for your messages and letters. I read them all and I appreciate the most. Gratitude.
