Q) What went through your mind when you learned you might be returning to “The Flash” for Flashpoint?

A) I sort of anticipated that I would be back for “Flashpoint.” I think even last year they may have known they were heading in this direction, but then when it came through I was obviously very excited. I love working with these guys.

Q) How did you find out about your return?

A) I was at a casting for another show at Warner Brothers and I got pulled out of the test. We asked why I was pulled out of the test and we said, “They just had a huge conversation with Greg Berlanti for next season” – as if we already knew all of this like “Why were you here testing?” That is how I found out.

Q) How did you feel finding out you’d also be appearing on “Legends of Tomorrow?”

A) It is super exciting! One, “Legends” is a show that is dear to our household. My son might like it more than “The Flash.” So, when he found out about it that was exciting. Also, having worked with Marc Guggenheim before and Victor Garber, I just can’t wait to be spending more time with those two. They are two very dear people and I’m just excited. I think they are doing some new things this season and they have definitely changed some things up. So, it will be exciting not just for the cast and crew, but also for the fans. It’s going to be chaotic, but fun for sure.

Q) Who are you most looking forward to working with on “Legends of Tomorrow?”

A) Aside from Victor Garber, who I adore, I would love to work with Dominic [Purcell] a little bit because I think that he is such an amazing presence. He is just so colorful and he is so intense. He’s also very fun and very playful. To work with him would be cool, but we will see.

Q) When it comes to Eobard Thawne, how do you get into character?

A) It is sort of easy because the main thing with him at this point in the story is that he is constantly trying to stay alive. He is constantly trying to get back to where he came from. His timeline has been disrupted and he is always trying to stay ahead, which requires a lot of travel. It is that urgency that is always presence. So, it’s really kind of simple.

Q) What does your son think of you taking on these iconic comic roles?

A) He loves it. It’s also something he thinks is kind of cool and kind of weird. For example, I brought my family with me to Vancouver to shoot “The Flash” and for the “Legends” shoot as well. To them, Vancouver is Central City. So, they have a different sensation they are discovering than someone without that experience.

Q) Is there anything else you can tease about what is to come for Eobard?

A) I will say I don’t know everything. They really only feed you what you need to live. I’ve just been taking one deal at a time and seeing where it leads me. It’s a fun set and a fun group. I’m just excited to be along for the ride.
