Lasher (Jack Huston) approaches the Mayfair home. The slamming of the gate wakes Rowan (Alexandra Daddario) who rushes to check downstairs. Once she sees who it is, she runs to protect the baby and uses her newfound power to hold him out. However, Lasher is much stronger and uses his own to get in. As he approaches the baby, she wakes up with a jolt revealing the moment to be a dream. Out of caution, she goes to check downstairs and the baby. By morning, that baby is a demanding toddler. He is rapidly growing by the hour and Rowan struggles with this fast paced version of motherhood. While this boils down to fulfilling a prophecy for the Mayfair witches, she has had to make great sacrifices.Millie comes to her in her ghostly form as she struggles and once again attempts to tell her of Lasher’s true nature. She tells her it is not a sin to kill the devil. Rowan goes to measure Lasher’s growth and he inquires about his powers he gave to her before choosing to be reborn without them to acquire a body.

The following morning, Dolly (Charlayne Woodard)  arrives after Rowan invites her over for advice. The pair discuss Lasher’s rapid growth and the confusion surrounding Lasher’s choice to give up his power. Dolly knows the most in the family about the prophecy he is believed to uphold for the mayfair witch bloodline. She suggests Rowan speak to Cortland as he was close to Lasher and would have more information on his true intentions. She feigns knowledge of his whereabouts.

We are introduced to Moira (Alyssa Jirrels). She is Tessa’s (Madison Wolfe) sister and comes home with many questions on her sister’s death. She is the young skeptical outcast of the family. Her power is the ability to read minds unless music is playing to counteract. She always has her headphones near to drown out the random thoughts of strangers. Although Moira is somber over the passing of her sister, her mother is joyous as she views her daughter’s death as a key piece in bringing Lasher to life.

Rowan reads Katherine’s old diaries that detail her experience with Lasher. As she is doing so, Ciprien (Tongayi Chirisa)  creeps to the house to get a look inside at Lasher and report back. He is fearful of what Lasher can accomplish having a body now and not being stuck in the spirit world. He recounts his memories to a bible that upon touching in the future will relay the memories as he is fearful his boss will erase his memory learning more about Lasher. He leaves the book with a trusted friend and a note that reads “next time you see me please give me this.” When Sip returns to his hotel, he is ambushed exactly as he assumed he would be and is knocked unconscious.

Rowan continues to read Katherine’s diaries before running to check on Lasher who has had another growth spurt. Millie appears to her again and says she “better do it [kill him] before he gets too big”. As she speaks to Lasher, it is shown the true innocence of young, reborn Lasher. His former self was a manipulative, diabolical entity. However his reborn self doesn’t seem to have retained his memories, only bits and pieces. Lasher quickly grows aggressive with Rowan as she questions his intentions once more and he pushes her into the wall. Her power is emotion driven, so a mirror shatters, cutting Lasher’s face. Rowan feels instant guilt and heals him with her newfound power. Rowan takes the shard of glass with his blood on it to a lab and proceeds to call an old friend, Lark (Ben Feldman). She asks him for a favor to run the genealogy of the blood under the radar. He is so stunned to hear from her, he instantly agrees. After the call she sees a distressed mother outside of a child’s room. She sneaks in to chat with the young girl who says she can tell she is going to die and her mother just got the news. Rowan uses her new healing power on her and is able to remove the cancer. Afterwards, she is visibly weak and collapses on a chair outside. She learns her powers are weaker the further away she is from Lasher. By the time we see Lasher again, he is a young man. He asks Dolly if dreams are memories to which she says, “not always, but they can be.” He also confides in her a dream he thinks Rowan wouldn’t like and she tells him not to tell her.

Sip awakens in Albrecht’s (Dennis Boutsikaris) office and has seemingly not had his memories erased. Instead, the elders want his help in capturing Lasher and bringing him in. He poses a threat to the balance of the supernatural world. Albercht reveals there is a Mayfair witch, Moira, who is against Lasher and he believes Sip can fully turn her to their side. The house has enchantments that keep out anyone who isn’t a Mayfair witch.

Moira pleads with Dolly to let her see Lasher. She has grievances that she wants to let out over him abandoning her sister when she needed him most. Rowan explains that the Lasher who did that and the one upstairs have different memories. She tells her she can speak to him once he has grown into a man and retains more memory. As she storms away from the house, Cip slowly follows her in a car.

When Rowan brings dinner to Lasher later that evening, he questions what he did to Tessa. He has no memory but feels immense guilt over what he overheard. She soothes him and once again brings up the conversation on his purpose and intention. He finally says he’ll tell her the reason and goes in for a kiss. He professes his love and when she angrily leaves the room, Lasher sneaks out. She immediately goes downstairs and uncovers Cortland’s body (Harry Hamlin) that has been turned to stone. As she speaks to him, he is seen stuck in an endless hallway able to hear her. This confirms he is still alive, just trapped.

Lasher finds the city’s nightlife for young people. He appears intoxicated and enticed by a young woman as they dance. The scene immediately cuts to Rowan pacing the living room waiting for him to come home. She hears the front gate and runs to open the door only to reveal a distraught Rowan holding that same young woman’s body. She seemingly had a hemorrhage and Rowan can’t use her healing power to help her. She sends Lasher to the basement to “get scissors,” but she then locks him inside and promises to let him out once she’s taken care of things. She brings the body out to a lake and uses magic to lower her to the bottom. Lasher breaks out of the basement and is now a full grown man and visually the Lasher from season one.
