Michelle Horn – Hold on Tight
Q) What are some of your most recent projects?
A) I just finished an episode of “Without a Trace” and I have a movie coming out called Hostage.
Q) Tell us about the premise of the movie Hostage and your character.
A) It’s about this cop, played by Bruce Willis, and he has to negotiate to get this hostage situation taken care of. I can’t really give too much away because knowing me I’ll give everything away because I’m really bad with it. I’m the hostage in the movie and I kind of have a relationship with one of the guys who is taking me hostage, played by Ben Foster.
Q) What was it like working on the film with Bruce Willis?
A) He was really nice and really funny. He was very involved in the movie. Even when he wasn’t working, he would come in on his off days and make sure everything was going smoothly and run lines with me. He was just a great guy.
Q) What made you want to take part in this film?
A) It was a really great script and when I found out the cast and director I couldn’t turn it down. Everything about it is just amazing.
Q) What was your favorite moment from filming?
A) Probably doing my favorite scene, which we call “the pool scene,” (once you see the movie you’ll understand) because it was a really fun scene with Ben and me. Also, the action stuff since there are a bunch of scenes with fire and that is all interesting since I had never been around stunt work at all.
Q) What was it like working on the set of Little Athens?
A) That was really fun, too. The script for Little Athens is very intense and emotional so it wasn’t as relaxed as Hostage was, but I got to work with a lot of my friends. It was a lot of fun in the aspect that I got to work with my friends, but the script, for my character, was a little more intense and I had to stay in character most of the time.
Q) You’ve done work behind the screen and in front of the screen. Which do you prefer and why?
A) I probably prefer in front of the screen. I love putting myself into a character and getting lost in it during the period of filming. It is really nice to be able to leave your own life and be someone else for a while.
Q) Your bio says that you are able to imitate voices well. How were you able learn this technique and hone your skills?
A) I think it was just when I was little that I was fascinated with people with accents and stuff like that and movies. I’m still a huge movie buff and I always wanted to be the actresses in the movies so I would play around and pretend to be like them. I think that is pretty much how it developed. I had a pretty active imagination as a kid.
Q) What show that you have guest starred on has been your favorite and why?
A) It would probably be “Without a Trace” because I got to work with great actors. Everyone on that show is amazing and I had a really good part, I got to play a pregnant teenager so I had to wear the belly and everything and really get into. It was a really nice part and very emotional.
Q) Why did you decide to become an actress?
A) When I was about six yeas old, I saw the movie Free Willy and I really liked it. I decided I wanted to be in movies and thought that I could do it. I dragged my parents along to taking me on auditions. I think they thought it was going to be some phase that I’d work on and then get it out of my system, but then look what happened…I’m still dragging them on auditions.
Q) What show would you love to work on and why?
A) I’d love to work on “Six Feet Under.” It’s just amazing acting and very interesting storylines and I don’t think there is anything like it on TV right now. I just think it is a really great script and everything about it is cool.
Q) You had the chance to play a role on the show “Angel.” What was it like working on such an iconic show?
A) It was really cool and I got to be a demon so I got to wear prosthetics, the hair, the makeup and sit in the makeup trailer for four hours. It took forever! It was really cool because people are really into it, too! It’s nice to be a part of something that people admire so much and really love.
Q) Who do you look up to in the entertainment field?
A) I’d have to say probably Natalie Portman. I think she’s wonderful! I actually just saw her in Closer and I think she is great. I’d love to emulate a career like her’s.
Q) What do you do in your spare time?
A) I go to a lot of concerts. I really enjoy music. I just hang out with friends. When I do get off time, I’m usually so tired that all I want to do is relax and go to a movie or concert.
Q) What bands are you into right now?
A) I like the Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie and stuff like that. I like the Moon Units and probably a bunch of bands that not a lot of people have heard of. I like Modest Mouse a lot and Franz Ferdinand.
Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?
A) Thanks for supporting me and keep seeing things I’m in. I’d appreciate it!
