Q) How would you best describe your sound?

A) I usually answer this question by telling people that I make really hard, soft-rock.

Q) Who are your Top 3 musical influences?

A) Oasis, Coldplay, The National

Q) Tell us a little more about the song “Better.”

A) I wrote this song about a time where I was distancing myself from the people who love me the most. I realized life is better when you share it with great people. Life is better when you have people to go through things with together,

Q) You also did a music video for “Better.” How did you come up with the concept for the video?

A) My friend Tyler Appel actually came up with the concept for this one. He has such a similar personality as mine, and I thought this video told a really beautiful story but also had a sense of humor to it. It’s my favorite video that I have. I love it so much and had a blast making it.

Q) To me, the album Everything Will Be Ok Eventually sounded very ethereal and reminded me very much of The Postal Service. Where did you draw inspiration from while songwriting?

A) It was originally just supposed to be a “guitar EP” but since I was stuck at home for a whole year, I had a lot more time to play around on the computer with new sounds. It went in a totally different direction than I had planned, and I love how it turned out. I love being surprised. I learned so much while making that batch of songs.

Q) I absolutely love the song “Headlights!” Which song on Everything Will Be Ok Eventually was your favorite to record and why?

A) Ah thanks. “Headlights” was a FUN one to make. Took so long to figure out. I think my favorite song might be “Together.” It was the last song I wrote for the EP and it was the first song I wrote once the pandemic started. And it’s been very, very fun to play live.

Q) What message do you hope fans take away from the new album?

A) I hope people look back on this record in a five to ten years and think about where we were as a society. I say this a lot, but I want this EP to be the soundtrack to the “return to normal.”

Q) With your upcoming tour, what are you most looking forward to as live music has made its return?

A) I’m honestly just excited to be back in the van with my best friends traveling the country playing music again. This is what I was meant to do, and it feels good to be back at it. I’m also super just excited to get to LA so I can get some SugarFish. I went once, and it was the best!

Q) Which song has always been your favorite to perform live?

A) “Saturday” has been the most fun to play live so far. That song was MADE for the live shows and festivals. It feels so good and massive. Can’t wait for people to hear it.

Q) If I were to look at your music collection, what would I find you currently listening to?

A) Samia, Madi Diaz, War on Drugs, and Savannah Conley

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters of your music?

A) Thank you. I’m so, so grateful that anyone cares enough to listen to my music or buys tickets to my shows. Life is cool and its humbling.
