Miriam Korn – Full of Cheer
Q. What are some of the recent projects that you have been working on?
A. I just wrapped this AFI film called Kissing Bandits. Lately I’ve just been going out on a lot of auditions.
Q. Recently you appeared on the show “Veronica Mars.” What made you want to be a part of this show?
A. It’s actually my favorite TV show and I’ve wanted to be on it for a really long time. I got the audition for the show four days after I had hernia surgery. My mom was like, “You’re not going.” And I was like, “Please mom, I have to!” So, she let me go, it was really awesome. It’s just a good show and so well written.
Q. Were you given any background information about the character Marlena during your audition?
A. All I knew was she was a lesbian cheerleader. Seriously, they were like, “She’s a lesbian cheerleader, okay, go!”
Q. The episode “Versatile Toppings” was controversial. What were your thoughts on the storyline?
A. I think it is really cool. I think a lot of TV shows, and especially “Veronica Mars,” are starting to deal with gay/lesbian issues. That’s why I really like the show because there are ten storylines going on at once. And because they are not just the run of the mill standard show.
Q. What is it about the show that you think continues to draw viewers in?
A. I don’t know, I really like Kristen Bell and there is so much going on. But it’s not one of those shows where if you start watching you’ll be confused. It’s really real. And also the show focuses on a girl who is so smart and witty.
Q. Your role had you working with Kristin Cavallari, how was getting to work with this up and coming actress?
A. It was actually a lot of fun. She was really cool and really professional and a lot of fun to work with. I remember it being really super early in the morning and I was sitting in makeup. I hear this voice that sounds so familiar, she has a very distinct voice. I didn’t know I was working with Kristin. She is so nice.
Q. Do you feel like there is hope for a return of Marlena?
A. There is always hope, I hope so but I have no idea.
Q. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A. I like dancing and listening to music and sadly I kind of am currently on MySpace way too often. It’s just really, really bad, it’s addicting.
Q. Do you have a latest obsession? Are you into any particular book, sport, music group or activity?
A. Lately I’ve really gotten into going to see live music. I have a friend who plays music and he is really awesome. This other new band I enjoy is called Reeve Carney, they just got signed by Interscope.
Q. Now that is 2006, what are you most looking forward to this year?
A. I am looking forward to working on other new exciting things and being happy with wherever I’m at.
