Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I’d say my sound is a R&B/soul kinda vibe, but I love exploring new genres when recording. So, whatever I like at the time, but as of now I’d say soul R&B.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My influencers are definitely Summer Walker, Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill, Jorjia Smith and I think you can definitely hear that in my music.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Finished.”

A) Finished is about moving forwards from a toxic relationship and just healing and realizing when it’s time to leave.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think it’s easy to connect with heart break music, but I feel like this song is a more positive take on it as heartbreak doesn’t last forever. I feel like the song is one you’d play when you want to get back in high spirits from something toxic.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The music video isn’t out yet but it’s basically walking away from someone else’s baggage and starting anew. I also love how it shows the city of Manchester.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I think listening to the song and coming up with a melody, but also if I struggle with lyrics, I’ll just freestyle whatever comes to mind.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I’ve started working with musicians who can hear my ideas and lay them down, which is way more fun than doing it by myself or using someone else’s beat. I feel like I have more control over the music and sound now which makes me excited for more songs to come in the future.

Q) With “Rain on Me” and “Finished” out now, will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) Definitely sounds like I care will be the coming EP.

Q) You recently got to perform at the iconic Glastonbury Festival. What was that experience like for you?

A) Performing at Glastonbury was nerve racking but the crowd there is always so welcoming and supportive I think it just makes me want to become a better artist.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I’ve realized I love performing with a live band. I feel like it brings the music to life and I’d love to do more performances like that.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) That’s a tough question as there’s so many people I look up to, but I think Giveon or Bryson Tiller would be a dream for me to collab with.

Q) What artist/musician are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) At the moment I’m listening to a lot of Tems, but in saying that I try and listen to people who I look up to and who have influenced my music, so it never really changes.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I’m truly humbled and appreciate everyone’s support. I hope they’re willing to start this long journey with me as I try to become the best musician I can be.
