New District – Closer

Q) How would you describe your sound?

 

A) We are a Pop group with some R&B and also some rock inflections. We want to bring back the vibe of 90’s boybands while still keeping the feel of today’s hits!

 

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

 

A) *NSync, One Direction, Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake

 

Q) What is the feel and vibe for your upcoming album?

 

A) 90’s Boyband meets 2016 Top 40. We can’t wait for you to hear it!

 

Q) What has been the most challenging part of making your album?

A) Definitely song choice! There’s so many to choose from and we’ve had to carefully pick which ones fit best on the EP.

 

Q) What has it been like working with music icon Randy Jackson on the album?

 

A) Randy is a pleasure to work with. He has such a creative thinking process. We’ll be recording a song for the EP and he’ll come up with ideas we hadn’t thought of to make the song sound amazing!

 

Q) What do you think it is about your song “Closer” that fans are really connecting to?

 

A) “Closer” is just our way of telling all girls that falling in love is easy, especially with somebody as beautiful as they are…

 

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

 

A) As much as we could ask for! The producers we work with have all been super open to any ideas we have to make the song sound the way that we imagine it, while also keeping it true to how it was written!
Q) What can fans expect from a live New District performance?

 

A) We treat the stage like it’s our house…And everyone is invited to the PARTY at New District’s house! We’re dancers also so you have to be ready to move with us. If you’re ready to have a great time, listen to some music and interact with us while we’re on stage, please come out to see us live!

 

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

 

A) As a group, Drake or G-Eazy would be a dream come true to collaborate with. Their style would put an interesting edge on our music!

 

Q) What can fans do to help promote your music?

 

A) Two words: Social Media. Whether it be Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, etc., the more interaction and love we receive from the fans on there, the more likely it is for our music to get more and more popular.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

 

A) It’s the one way that we can guarantee a real connection with the fans. We love messaging them, replying to their comments and even liking some of their posts from time to time! And the more avid the fans are on social media, the more our fan family grows.

 

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

 

A) It is impossible to thank you enough for all of the support you have given to us. It’s unbelievable to see how much you guys actually care and actually want us to be successful. We want you to know that this is only the beginning, the beginning of the beginning, and there is so much more for you to be a part of. We can’t wait to share this amazing journey with you!
