Masha (Nicole Kidman) tells the group that each of them have a connection to David Sharpe (Mark Strong). She starts by reminding Brian (Murray Bartlett) about how one of his worst moments was him getting dissected on his own broadcast. David says he took over and there is a moment of David talking on the phone about Brian needing to be a better role model for children. Brian says it must be nice to delegate. Masha mentions the charities he uses to launder his name with the public. Then she mentions the music scholarship that Wolfie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) received that is no longer supported by his company. They had to stop supporting it because the company could no longer write it off on their taxes. Wolfie lets him know that everyone had to drop you and were given no explanation. David defends himself by saying he didn’t make the decision and he doesn’t make the laws. He says it’s just the system. Masha reminds Agnes (Dolly De Leon) about Mother Irene’s restraint to not save preventable deaths. David’s company funded the technology at the hospitals she worked at and they also funded the satellites that sent the bombs. She then tells Matteo (Aras Aydin) about his parents losing their lives to a SMART bomb that was guided by David’s company’s technology.
Victoria (Christine Baranski) asks to speak to Masha in private. Masha tries to get her to discuss it in front of the group but Victoria says she won’t do that. She leaves Brain in charge. Helena (Lena Olin) is telling Martin (Lucas Englander) to come to her. He falls into her arms and she soothes him. She tells him he was everything she could want in a child. He starts calling out to her in tears. He quickly eats more of the herbs and leaves the lab.
Victoria tells Masha that it won’t take Imogen (Annie Murphy) long to realize that her dad is the one who created the satellite technology that guided the bombs and it’s the reason he committed suicide. David tells Brian he can make everything go away if he wants his show back as long as he unties him. Brian tells him he isn’t tied and David brings his hands forward. When he stands it is on wobbly footing. Martin storms through the shadows of the house past the other guests. Victoria says she didn’t know her husband had part in the bombing. She doesn’t tell Masha to bring up what happened to her husband to Imogen. She tells Masha she is a good mother so she should understand. She leaves just as Masha sees her daughter who is telling her not to leave because she misses her. Her daughter tells her to bring her father so they can be together but Masha runs in the other direction. Her daughter starts yelling out that she hates Masha.
Tina (King Princess) says that she objects to everything. Tina wants to know what’s going on and Masha tells her she is at the retreat with Wolfie, but Wolfie says she’s only there because of Tina. Masha looks at Wolfie and when Tina asks Wolfie to join her in leaving, Wolfie stays. Masha asks if anybody else wants to leave, but they all stay.
Martin is storming around the house still. Masha tells them that this can heal things even if it hurts or they have to get angry. Martin finds Helena and she asks why he is bothering her. She tells him she’s glad she doesn’t have to see him. She tells him now he knows the truth. He quickly pulls a gun on her, but Helena continues to berate him. He shoots the bullet at a mirror and Tina hears it through her headphones. Masha says she invited them because they are all connected. David stands to talk about the many mistakes he has made. Wolfie tries to stop him, but he gets to continue. He tells them he didn’t start anything. Tina tries again to get Wolfie to leave with her because she hag. David still rings about because of it and there is more to him like his trauma and the good thighs he’s done. Peter (Henry Golding) gets up and says he won’t listen to anything his father is saying and they shouldn’t either. He yells about David wanting to be the worst character. He says that David can cry on command and is manipulating them with all he’s trying to give now. Imogen asks for a word with David because she thinks he knew her father, but he says he doesn’t remember her father. Imogen gets mad and punches David in the face. Agnes starts to get upset when Peter accuses David of not being a horrible human as he starts to comfort her. David says that his company will get out of the weapons making business immediately. They ask if he is lying, but he runs outside to get his phone. Masha leaves in shirt of him. Martin rushes into the room with the gun pointed at all the guests. Behind Masha is her daughter as well. Martin here’s his mother telling him to finish what they started. Masha finds David on the bridge after David has already tried to make a call. Martin appears with the gun pointed towards Masha and David. David says he’s taking care of his family’s property and lets Martin know he has seen her on the camera talking to her. Martin sees Masha and Helena in one person as he continues to trip with the drugs. He says he’ll make the world a better place even though he’s always considered useless. He repeats that Masha stole his mother from him. Masha talks him down and lowers the gun as he does so. As he walks away, Helema taunts him about him following what Masha wants to do. Enraged, Martin turns back around and shoots Masha. She falls over the side of the bridge while Martin runs off. David runs down to see her. Masha wakes up and sees her daughter as flashes of her last moments with her flash through her mind. She sheets her daughter. She hugs her for a moment longer and then she is gone.
The next morning Masha is laying in the bed while the guests worry. Masha wakes to David standing over her. She lets him know she won’t be seeing Tatiana again. David lets Martin know Masha wants to see him. He goes into the room to let Masha know he wouldn’t mind if she called the police. Masha says she won’t, but Martin has to work through his traumas still. She lets him know that somebody needs to run the family business, and he is the one that will do it. She reassures him that he does not need her in order to run the place.
David joins Masha on the balcony at the other house. David still says he believes in Masha, but seeing Martin take too high a dose of the medicine makes him hesitate on investing. Masha says she’s glad he’s coming to his senses about not taking advantage. He says he is trying to make some changes. He tells her she is still the same person he met in Prague all those years ago and that she should never change.
Jesse asks Brian if he is all better and where he will do it now. Brian says he doesn’t know if everything is all better but he tells Jesse he thinks he should start doing things on his own from now on. Tina asks Wolfie why she is packing. She lets Tina know she got a flight for that night since the roads cleared. Brian tells Jesse he’ll be fine without Brian. Tina gets off the bed to hug Wolfie before she goes. Brian tells Jesse he loves him and then puts him back into his case. Tina and Wolfie tell each other they love each other. Wolfie leaves and Tina plays the piano. Tina goes to see Masha, who tells her she heard her playing the piano beautifully. Tina says now that she’s single, she can play. She says she is okay and so is Masha. Tina says Masha is nuts for saying the retreat was successful. Masha tells Tina that her daughter would be the same age as her now and loved watching her play on Brian’s show. She tells Tina she did good and that David led her to Wolfie which led her to Tina. Hopefully, Tina has now been led back to herself. Tina leaves with a good luck from Masha.
Matteo, Victoria and Imogen are packing to leave. Imogen says she’ll find the time to come visit her mother and the two share a hug in the hallway. Brian and Agnes play with the string puppets as they ride the cart back down the mountain. They say they’re glad to have met each other and the experience was made better because of each other. They put them down and Agnes asks if Brian would consider entertaining children again. She suggests doing it for kids in hospitals, schools, and refugee centers. He doesn’t verbally answer, but he smiles and then grabs her hand in her lap.
Imogen asks Peter where home is for him. He says he has an apartment in London. Imogen says she was last there in 2013 and Peter says he was in New York once or twice. Peter chases after Imogen to tell her he wants to see her more, so Victoria lets him know that Imogen will make herself available to him if he just sends the private jet. Peter leaves Imogen with a lingering kiss and she leaves the area with her mother.
Peter and David are riding in the backseat when Peter receives a text. Imogen and Brian also receive one. The text makes everyone gasp. Wolfie sees a news report of David at the airport of David’s exclamation that he would not continue to work in the weapons department or of harming people. Everyone laughs and celebrities Masha sneaking the video footage of him saying all of this in their respective areas. David immediately calls Masha to yell at her about what she did. She hangs up the phone on him.
One month later, David arrives at a McDonald’s. He goes in to meet Masha. She destroyed a billion dollars of his net worth with the video footage leak. He passes some documents to her and lets her know they have done some company rebranding. He wants to work with the psychedelic medicines and wants Masha in on it. He says he has to keep some precautions because of what she has done in the past. Masha doesn’t want to do it for the amount of money he’s offering, but David pulls out incriminating video footage he received from Martin to persuade her more. He says she should surround herself with better people. Masha asks why he really came to her, but David says he didn’t come for the reasons she suggested. She signs the papers and says he can’t get rid of the ties he has to her. She leans over the table and kisses him.
