No Time to Die

Retirement never looked so good than on James Bond (Daniel Craig). He’s left active service and is enjoying a new life on the sands of Jamaica. Unfortunately, that peace is short-lived as his old pal Flex Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) finds him and asks for some help. Bond is given the task of rescuing a kidnapped scientist (David Dencik). Sounds too good to be true (so does the movie). Well, that is exactly the case as Bond finds himself on the trail of a mysterious villain that has in his possession some dangerous new technology. Unfortunately, No Time to Die is a long ride with too many twists and turns that leaves viewers with a death wish.

Cary Joji Fukunaga takes the helm as director of the latest badass Bond movie. Daniel Craig is as fit as ever and back in full action-adventure mode in No Time To Die. With his 007 status handed over to new agent Nomi (Lashana Lynch), he has nothing but blue skies and blue waters to enjoy.  So, when he heads to Cuba to liaise with an untrained operative named Paloma (Ana de Armas) that’s when things go awry. It seems M (Ralph Fiennes) has allowed the new technology to fall into the hands of bad guy Blofeld (Christoph Wlatz) who, even while in a jail cell, has managed to mastermind a plan. However, both Blofeld and Bond get thrown for a loop when an even bigger villain comes to town – Safrin (played by the ever creepy Rami Malek).

Sadly, the number of villains and plot twists are what throw the film for a downward spiral. Those looking for an investible Bond film are going to find themselves in for a lengthy (2 hrs. and 45 minutes) and convoluted tale. There is a lot to take in! Although, if you are a big Bond fan you’ll be plenty satisfied with the action, adventure and stunt work that No Time to Die possesses.
