O’so Krispie – R U the Girl
Q) Why did you apply for the show?
A) Ever since I was young, TLC has been my favorite group. They are energetic and outstanding females in the world. They are the only ones that made me want to get up and get on stage and dance with them because of their dancing, rapping and singing.
Q) What was your audition like?
A) The audition process was weird. They made us dance and we had the choice to sing or rap. You don’t know what to expect going into something like that.
Q) What was it like meeting Chilli and T-boz or the first time?
A) I was just shocked! I was like, “Oh gosh! They’re really here!” I actually got to meet them and understand that they are human. I think a lot of times when celebrities are not tangible you don’t comprehend that they are humans just like you. They have problems and emotions just like you do. Once I learned that, I liked them even more than I did before I had a chance to meet them.
Q) What did you learn most about he music industry from being on the show?
A) As far as the music industry is concerned, I learned that it’s about your personality. You can have talent, millions of people have talent, but if you can’t communicate properly, accept criticism and have a friendly personality than you are not going to get too far.
Q) Why do you think you were chosen as “The Girl?”
A) It’s because I’m amazing! I was chosen as “The Girl” because I maybe had more of the characteristics that they needed to perform on that track. I think that my personality fits well with them and that we got along without stress. It was more easy going and it wasn’t a forced situation.
Q) How did you come up with the rap for “I Bet?”
A) When the beat dropped, that’s just the first thing that came to my head. Usually, I don’t ponder on it too long. T-boz let us know what the song was going to be about and I got a chance to hear the beat and that’s just what flowed. I know both females had spoken about their personal situations and I figured that was as personal as I could get to the song.
Q) What was going through your mind when you were performing on stage with Chilli and T-Boz?
A) I didn’t want to mess up because they are professionals. Also, I was thinking how excited and blessed I was to have the opportunity to perform with them.
Q) How did you get your nickname “O’so Krispie” and what does it mean?
A) I got the name from my boyfriend who works at Hot 107.9 in Atlanta. He’s a radio personality working 6pm to 10pm so he probably has the most popular shows. He always says, “It’s going to be o’so krispie to fair.” Both of us are from California so we always use the word “krispie” to mean neat, clean and bright. Also, everyone enjoys chicken when it’s “crispy” and pants are only good when they are pressed and “crisp.” So, everyone likes those things that are “crispy” and he always says “o’so krispie,” meaning not just what everyone loves, but “o’so” like extra. “O’so krispie” means extra amazing, not just your usual good. There are people that are mediocre and are “krispie,” but I am “O’so Krispie” since I am above and beyond what everyone else does.
Q) Who do you plan on keeping in touch with from the show?
A) I keep in contact with Arielle and Lauren.
Q) What are you going to do now that the show is over?
A) I am going to continue to teach dance workshops, as well as finish up my album. I’m also going to stay in the public eye and continue to bless people with my talent.
Q) What was your favorite part of your whole experience?
A) My favorite part of the experience was actually when I got to go skating with T-boz and Chilli. They gave me a lot of advice that I can apply to my life.
Q) What would you like to say to all of your fans and supporters?
A) Thank you so much! I’d like to thank all of my fans. I’d also like to thank all of my haters because they actually made the ratings of the show very good! Everyone out there that supports me, I just pray that they continue. I hope I get a chance to meet my fans as much as possible.
