Paige Mobley – Superman

Q) You’re playing Fleurette in the new Superman. How did this role come to you?

A) I auditioned! I didn’t know much about the character going in, or even how she fit into the larger story. I had to make some creative choices based on instinct and imagination. Once I got the role, I was pleased with how accurate I was in my audition! It was exciting to originate a character in a world this iconic and bring her to life piece by piece.

Q) How was she originally described to you outside of Lex Luthor’s ex, and what were you told about their current dynamics?

A) I was given little to no info before filming! It ended up being helpful though in the end because I had to rely on my creativity to come up with circumstances for my performance.

Q) Was there something you may have added to the character that wasn’t initially on the page?

A) I think I brought a sense of vulnerability to her. Fleurette isn’t just a stylish ex – she’s someone who’s living through something intense. She has a softness underneath that called for some tears and James [Gunn] gave me the space to play with that.

Q) Going into shooting, were you hoping to share a scene with someone(s) in particular?

A) Honestly, Nicholas Hoult! I’ve been a fan of his since “Skins” – so getting to work with him as Lex Luthor was surreal. I was also quietly hoping to bump into Krypto on set…

Q) Certainly, you spend a lot of time with co-star Nicholas Hoult. Talk about working with him as Lex Luthor?

A) Nick is incredible – Watching him work up close was such a masterclass. He made every scene feel alive.

Q) James Gunn is a powerhouse filmmaker. How hands-on was he when it came to shooting?

A) Very hands-on, in the best way. James has this rare ability to be precise and incredibly playful at the same time.

Q) It must have been absolutely surreal for you to be on set. What were some of your favorite moments from filming that you can tease?

A) One of the most unforgettable days was when we filmed in Cleveland and nearly the entire cast was on set. It was electric. Everyone was excited, locked in and so kind. Watching scenes unfold that day – scenes I knew fans would lose their minds over – was something I’ll never forget.

Q) With everything so hush-hush, were you able to keep any mementos from your time on set—even if just your chairback?

A) I’m a severe rule follower, so, unfortunately, no! The memories are more than enough.

Q) With the movie out now, will you be sharing some behind-the-scenes photos or videos from your time on set?

A) Yes! I’ve been saving a few sweet behind-the-scenes moments to share once the film is out. It’s been hard keeping it all under wraps, so I’m really excited to finally celebrate with everyone.

Q) The Superman franchise is so iconic. What do you think it is about Gunn’s new Superman film that will resonate with viewers?

A) There’s a real sense of heart in this version. It’s epic and action-packed, of course, but it’s deeper. I think people are really craving stories that remind us of the good in the world and this film delivers that without losing its edge.

Q) What are the other projects that you have been busy working on lately?

A) I’m developing and writing projects through my production company, Longmeadow. I’m also continuing work in design and home renovation – it’s a busy mix, but I love all of it.

Q) What would you like to say to fans and supporters of the incredible work you do on our screens?

A) Thank you!! Every step of this journey has been made possible by the people who have supported me, believed in my work and sent kind words. I don’t take that lightly.
