Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would describe my sound as chill RnB. Before finding my own sound, I used to experiment with different genres -like pop. But lately I’ve been finding myself going back to my roots and incorporating punk/rock music to my sound today and I think that’s pretty damn cool.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My dad, Kurt Cobain, Bruno Mars

Q) Toronto has become such a great hub for up-and-coming musicians. What makes it such a special place for artists?

A) Our sound – we have that chill, dark, moody vibe to our music. I think it has to do a lot with the cold weather. A lot of us creatives are always indoors, not a lot of energies we’re consuming…So, we’re really creating from ourselves, that’s why our music is so deep.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Red Handed.”

A) It’s about a true story, everything that was said in the song happened to be the same morning I wrote the song.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) It’s relatable. Everyone goes through a toxic cycle in one of their relationships…I just took that pain and put it into my music…I’m just encouraging females to do the same… like go get that bag sis. Give yourself twenty-four hours to vent/cry about it but once that twenty-four hour hits use that energy and work on yourself to become better.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) Well, it’s based off a true story… the message behind the visual was that I killed the old me…The old me would’ve put too much energy into the situation but the new me is elevating.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I write out of emotion whether that is out of love, excitement, anger, sadness, etc. If nothing comes from me, I use other people’s stories as my muse. I create melodies before I write the lyrics because for me all the melodies have to do with that emotion. Once that’s laid out the lyrics come to me quick.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I’m always involved in the production of the music. Like I said, I want my emotion to speak through my music.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) In the works as we speak!

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I think my favorite place was at the Canadian Open Music event when I was opening up for Flo Rida. It was one of the bigger shows. It was an inspiring moment for me. It almost feels like I’m manifesting for my own big show.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Bruno Mars!

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) The Used – In Love and Death – one of my favorite albums all time.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Without my fans, I don’t think I’d be where I’d be now. The reason I started music is because someone reached out saying my music inspired and motivated them.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you for your endless support and love. I have something to wake up and look forward to everyday.
