Q) How would you best describe your sound?

A) Someone recently described it as “cinematic indie folk,” which I believe is pretty accurate for the latest EP.

Q) Who are your Top 3 musical influences?

A) Currently, I would say Amanda Bergman, Blanco White and José González.

Q) What are some themes you explore on your latest EP Salamina

A) Courage, happiness, change

Q) Your EP was inspired by a trip you made to Salamina back in 2022. Was there a moment during that trip that made you realize you needed to write this album?

A) A few different factors lead to a wave of inspiration during the days at Salamina. It was something in the combination of the stormy weather, a feeling of being isolated but free at the same time and seeing a simplicity in life which made me dare to take steps.

Q) For this EP you also had the chance to work with producer Björn Yttling (Lykke Li, Peter Björn & John, First Aid Kit). How did this development come about?

A) After starting to write the songs for the new EP I had a feeling that I wanted to try something new on both the production and writing side. Something that could truly challenge my previous sound. Having grown up with many of the bands and artists Yttling produced, he was on the top of my wish list. I didn’t dare to believe that he would be interested, but my manager convinced me to reach out and send some demos of my first ideas. I’m very happy I did because he loved what he heard and the idea of working together became reality.

Q) What kinds of conversations did you two have over the sound and musical arc of Salamina?

A) After we finished writing the songs Björn had a quite clear idea of where he wanted to take the production, and I took a bigger step back than usual to not interfere with this. I often have my own ideas in the studio but this time I tried not to disturb too much since I really wanted to hear where he would take it.

Q) Since the release of Salamina, what has been the reaction from fans and listeners to the new music?

A) Many people react that they feel it sounds “bigger” and “explorative.” I have even heard the phrase “Plàsi 2.0.” It’s clear that the listeners can feel the winds of change and so far it has only been in a positive way.

Q) I absolutely love “All of Me!” Which song was your favorite to write and record for Salamina?

A) I have a hard time deciding between “Avignon” and “Salamina.” Both songs take me to a place I want to be at in different moments of the week and are places I love to escape to.

Q) I also love that you recorded one song in Swedish called “Ordna Sig,” which is a nod to your Swedish roots. What inspired you to write and sing this particular song in Swedish?

A) I don’t have a straight answer to what inspired me because the words for some reason just came out in Swedish when starting to write this song. Perhaps the fact that I’m currently based outside of Sweden, in the Netherlands, has unconsciously triggered a need to express myself in my native language.

Q) You have a few upcoming European tour dates in December. Are there any plans to take your tour internationally to other continents?

A) The Salamina Tour in May and the acoustic version in December includes many of the countries I wanted to tour within Europe. A dream would be to hit the road over in North America or why not Australia in the future. Not planned for now, but I hope it will become reality one day.

Q) If you could collaborate with anyone on a new music project, who would you love to work with and why?

A) If I were to create a brand-new music project it would most probably be with someone who knows me very well – someone who I get along with very well both on a personal and musical level.

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters of your music?

A) Thank you for staying open to new melodies, sounds and rhythms. And for the ones living outside of Europe, be patient! I hope we can meet one day on a show in your town.
