Randy Richwood – Mr. Romance
Q) Why did you try out for the show Mr. Romance?
A) A reason was me being a starving artist, for one, I wanted more exposure and I just loved TV. I loved “Mr. Romance” because it gave me the exposure that I needed and I thought I could outdo the competition.
Q) You are a single father of three, what did your kids think of you being on the show?
A) My kids are big supporters of me. They love daddy so they were very excited. My son was with me when I went to audition. He sat in the waiting room with the other fellows and he was a big supporter. They love daddy to death and it’s good to have a close fan club that loves you.
Q) What was your audition like for the show?
A) The audition was kind of tight. You had a lot of handsome gentlemen out there trying to go out for the same project. It was alright because I stayed focused on to what they wanted and asked me to do and I came up on top.
Q) How did you feel having to compete in a man-pageant?
A) I felt awesome. I didn’t expect it would be a pageant at first. I thought it was going to be like a competition, because if that was the case then I would have been on point and in the gym more dedicated then I was. The time that they were going to go and shoot it was my off-season so I was on vacation eating everything in the world.
Q) What was your favorite moment from filming the show “Mr. Romance”?
A) My favorite part was them giving me a lot more exposure about my talent. Then again, also, talking about my children was very special.
Q) How do you feel stepping into the shoes and role of Fabio?
A) They are going to be big shoes to step into, but I’m willing and ready to work. If I can get some more advice from him I am very willing to accept it because he did a good job for many years and the industry is very competitive.
Q) How was the dynamic in the house and what did you like most about living there?
A) The house was amazing and the food was immaculate. You can’t get it no better than that! Besides just having dates and hanging out, I was in there getting the work done to become Mr. Romance.
Q) Do you plan on keeping in touch with any of the other contestants?
A) For sure! I’ll keep in touch with Chris, Scott, a little bit of TJ, Tony, Andrew and all of the guys. My best man is Marky-Mark, a real cool and laid back guy who is funny.
Q) What will you do with your cash prize?
A) I’ll pay my credit off and put some more college tuition up for my children.
Q) What was it like meeting Fabio?
A) Fabio is a great guy who is down to Earth and real. He’s not stuck up on himself; he’s awesome. He just gives you advice, tells you about his life and what he enjoys about being who he is. He’s a wonderful guy.
Q) How do you feel knowing that your face will be on the cover of at least three books?
A) Oh man, you can’t believe it! I’m ready to get right! Ever since the shooting, that’s all I am is the “treadmill guy.” They call me “The King of the Treadmill,” so I think I am ready for it. I can’t wait for it all to happen!
Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?
A) Thank you for your love, your support and also for voting for me on Oxygen.com. Check me out in the future and thanks for following my career. Go to Oxygen.com and find out what is next. Give them some ideas and tell them you want to see more of Randy Ritchwood and they’ll be glad to make it happen!
