Q) You will play Ms. Kelly in the series created by the Duffer brothers. Was there anything in particular about the character or the show that made you want to be a part of “Stranger Things?”

A) I was a huge fan of the show prior to even receiving the audition! I love all things sci-fi and I’ll tolerate some horror. [winks] I’m just so excited to be part of a show I actually watch, love and can bring diversity and talent to!

Q) Your character is described as a counselor at Hawkins who truly cares about her students, especially those who struggle. Tell us what we can expect to see from your character’s storyline this season and how she fits in with our beloved main characters.

A) Everything is under lock and key this season so I can’t share too much yet, but Ms. Kelly is so kind and quirky. The kids at Hawkins love her! A clip has been released on “The Tonight Show” with Sadie Sink actually if you want to check it out! [winks]

Q) In what ways do you relate to your character and how are you different?

A) I bring 100% authenticity of my natural persona into Ms. Kelly in the form of compassion and always seeking to help others. I’ve never been a guidance counselor in my life, but I have been the go-to person when friends and even strangers are in need. The biggest difference is my real-life hair and “Stranger Things” hair! I can’t wait for you all to see it!

Q) Were there certain aspects or layers of her that you were most looking forward to portraying?

A) I couldn’t wait to share this compassionate side of me with the world in this show! I’ve been cast in more authoritative and serious rows over the past few years. I love them, but I’m even more excited that I get to share more layers of my actual personality with this character. What an honor it is to play someone who brings comfort and trust to the kids at Hawkins.

Q) Going into the show were you looking to share scenes with someone(s) in particular?

A) Honestly, I wouldn’t mind sharing scenes with ANY of the characters. Just being in the “Stranger Things” world is a huge honor and so exhilarating! I was excited to be taken back in time to the 80s!

Q) Season four of “Stranger Things” will stream on Netflix on May 27th. Do you have a particular episode you are looking forward to for fans to see this season?

A) All the episodes are going to blow your mind! This season is taking horror to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL! The show is definitely growing with the kiddos.

Q) What were some of your most memorable moments from working on “Stranger Things” or favorite episodes to film and why?

A) My character’s environment was probably the topmost memorable moment to me. The set design and decor were unbelievably detailed and profound. It made the scene work and relationships fall into place that much more.

Q) What do you think it is about “Stranger Things” that continues to make it such a fan favorite show?

A) Aside from their attention to detail for all things 80s, I truly think the showrunners respond to how their fans react to the show’s storylines themselves. Seeing non-main characters grow over the seasons as part of the positive response from fans creates such an integrated environment between the creators and the fans.

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the fans reaching out about Season 4?

A) Yes! “Stranger Things” fans are THE BEST! They are so kind and so enthusiastic! I’m so excited to see how they like this new season or how scared they’ll be. I especially want to know how they feel about Ms. Kelly!

Q) What other projects have you been busy working on lately?

A) At the moment, I have a couple of projects that will release next year that I have to keep under wraps for now. Gosh, lots of things are under wraps but fear not! The grand surprise will be so much more rewarding than finding things out sooner!

Q) What would you like to say to fans and supporters of you and your work?

A) I often feel that I’m not doing enough, gotta work harder, find opportunities and keep growing. To all my fans and supporters out there, your words and love remind me to stop and smell the roses. Being a workaholic can be blinding. Thank you for giving me a chance to celebrate and then continue onward. CHEERS!
