Rob Pinkston – Master of Disguises
Q. What are the current projects that you are working on?
A. Right now, I just finished a season of “Punk’d,” I’m working on the next season of “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide,” I just got back from Georgia where I was filming The Derby Stallion. I am going to be going to Portland to film The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang.
Q. Can you tell us a bit about the movie The Derby Stallion and your role as “Chuck”?
A. Derby Stallion is about a kid, about him being able to achieve his goals and being a stronger person through riding horses. He meets this guy, Mr. Bojangles is what everybody calls him, and he teaches him to ride a horse. While he’s learning to ride horses he falls in love with a girl, and I play her younger brother.
Q. What was it like getting to work in such a rural setting for the movie?
A. It was really great, we got to go outside everyday on to this beautiful, lovely garden. It was amazing, afterwards we were always with the horses, with the stables and stuff, it was really fun.
Q. The movie was filmed in Adairsville, Georgia and you’re from Atlanta. Were you able to go home a lot and travel back and forth between the set?
A. With the rain it made the traffic really bad, so I was able to see my grandparents on my dad’s side, they were able to drive up and meet us. But, we weren’t able to really drive up and meet our family.
Q. How was it working with director Craig Clyde?
A. He’s a great guy, he is the biggest family man, he is just the nicest guy. I actually knew his son, KC, a while before I even met Craig Clyde or even knew him, so he’s pretty cool.
Q. Do you have a most memorable moment from filmingThe Derby Stallion?
A. I would have to say hanging out every night with all the cast members, we all stayed at the same hotel. So, we would all finish working and then come back and just hang out and have fun.
Q. How did you become involved with being a field agent for the show “Punk’d”?
A. My manager got me an audition with MTV and I went in and I did a couple of improv’s for them and they really liked me. So, I started working with them a few days later.
Q. What is it like for you getting to pull these practical jokes on big name celebrities like Serena Williams and Joss Stone?
A. It was so much fun, it is the most exciting thing, because it takes a really long time to get set up but once it is done and it’s ready to go, you only have one shot. Your energy is just going like crazy and it’s the most exciting thing you’ve ever done.
Q. “Punk’d” has gotten a lot of celebrities, but if you could punk any celebrity, who would you really love to get?
A. I don’t know, either Leonardo DiCaprio or Johnny Depp, ‘cuz they are just the coolest people ever.
Q. How is it working alongside Ashton Kutcher?
A. He’s a really funny guy, we would hang out, getting everything set up, and he would tell us how he wanted stuff to go down. We would walk through everything beforehand so we got an idea of what to do. He is just a really funny guy.
Q. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A. In my spare time I like to hang out with my friends, play video games, just anything. A lot of the cast members of “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” usually get together on the weekend and either go bowling or the movies or something.
Q. Is there anything that you’d like to say to your fans and supporters?
A. Thank you, thank you so much because without you I wouldn’t be able to do what I do, and have as much fun as I have.
