Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I am currently filming “The Unicorn” on CBS and I am getting ready for the season two premiere of “Holly Hobbie” on HULU, while working on some music on the side.

Q) Please tell us the premise for “The Unicorn.”

A) “The Unicorn” is about a family that has recently lost their mother and how they are trying to find their place and happiness in the world. Our dad Wade, played by Walton Goggins, is starting to get back into dating!

Q) What made you want to be a part of the series?

A) I was especially drawn to this character and series because of the realness and honesty that it shows. It tells the story of life with all its ups and downs in a comedic way.

Q) How was Grace originally described to you?

A) Grace was described as a 14-year-old girl who has stepped into the motherly figure of the family, but also starting to explore in the dating world herself.

Q) Was there anything you added to her that wasn’t in her initial breakdown?

A) The character has grown with me as we shoot the series, so I add my own twist into everything she does but nothing I can name specifically.

Q) What have you found challenging about your portrayal?

A) As you know, Grace has lost her mother. So, for me as the actress, it’s been challenging to find her mindset on life! After the loss of someone that close to you, your perspective on life changes and the way you react to things may be different. Finding the moments where she lets that sadness or insecurity slip in a bit is something that I’m careful with.

Q) Talk about working with on-screen father Walton Goggins.

A) Walton is incredible and such an amazing person to work with. He is always looking out for me and making sure I’m in the right headspace for whatever scene we may be in.

Q) What are some memorable moments (either on screen or off) from filming “The Unicorn?”

A) The most memorable moment I have had so far was when I was filming a particularly challenging scene with Walton where I had to get angry at him. I was ramping myself up, but I could feel that I wasn’t quite there yet. Walton pulled me aside and made me say the line in the scene that was the turning point over and over again until I was physically shaking. He taught me how to give myself permission to go there and let that feeling take over. It’s an experience I will never forget.

Q) What do you think it is about the show that will make it a fast fan favorite?

A) The show is so hilarious and easy to relate to because life’s funny! The show gives an honest perspective on life and lets the world see that.

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the instant fan reaction to the series?

A) I keep seeing all these amazing fan edits! It’s awesome being a part of a show as fun as this one. I’m so grateful.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and the work you do?

A) All I can say is thank you so, so much. I literally wouldn’t be here without you guys and I’m very happy I get to share my journey with you. I love you!!
