Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Feels Like Summer.” What aspects of creating this single challenged you the most?

A) If I’m honest, writing “happy” isn’t my forte! Like a friend of mine has said before, on learning that I was heartbroken, “Best get to a piano then mate!” Having said that, once I was in the right head space, “Feels Like Summer” actually came out pretty quick. I was reminiscing of memories and feelings that brought that warmth, that joy and happiness of summer.

Q) Congrats on the song exploding on Instagram! What do you think it is about the single that fans connect with the most? Since you are a part of social media, what kind of fan feedback have you been receiving to the single?

A) So far, it’s been phenomenal. It’s so soul enriching to know the song has brought joy to so many, and it’s been amazing watching the song grow on a global scale. I’ve loved every minute of seeing what summer looks like to people around the world. Think I best write “Feels Like Winter” next.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) Certainly, more songs – in what form I don’t know just yet. I’m writing tons and got some fun collaborations in the mix as well, watch this space.

Q) With concerts having been on hold, what have you missed most about being on stage?

A) Just that raw energy of the room. Playing live is such an important part of the journey for me. It’s where you can really connect with fans, see the whites of their eyes, feel the atmosphere. It’s also where we, as artists, are at our most vulnerable; there’s no hiding on stage, you can’t fake it – it’s just you and the audience. I love it. Better still you get to meet the people that support you, that’s really special to me.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I’d like to say thanks. From little acorns, mighty oaks grow. You’re the reason I never stopped doing this, and the reason I won’t.
