Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Ooo, I don’t know to be honest! It’s ever changing as I try not to restrict myself to just one thing. So, I guess my sound is whatever you think it is. [smiles]

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I have so many! I listen to a mix of artists, but some of my absolute favorites that have really heavily inspired my musical journey are Carly Simon, Carole King, Joni Mitchell and Sabrina Carpenter. I’ve also always had a love for The Beatles. They broke down so many walls through their experimental sound and I have so much respect for them for doing that.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Call U Mine.”

A) Basically, I fell in love with a guy even though he was never mine to love. The memories haunted me for a really long time. So, writing “Call U Mine” gave me an outlet to free my feelings and finally move on.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) A lot of my fans (they’re more like friends to me [laughs]) have said that they related to the lyrics for various different reasons, and that means the world to me. Knowing that the lyrics I wrote have been interpreted to relate to something someone else is going through is absolutely amazing, I’m super grateful.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) I actually filmed the video ten months before the song came out! But I really wanted to use the flowers as a symbol for “growth,” to show that even though it feels like you’re drowning, you’re actually growing and finding yourself.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I write songs in so many different ways. Usually, a melody just randomly comes to my head, and I have to run straight to my guitar/piano to write it! [laughs]

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) Not as much as I’d like to be honest, but the producers I’ve worked with have been absolutely amazing and have let me just go crazy and create! I’m super grateful for that as it’s definitely helped me learn more about myself as an artist.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) Yes, yes, yes!! Absolutely!

Q) With concerts returning, where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I adored performing at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany!! It was such a dream come true. It’s a memory I will treasure forever. I don’t even really remember actually being on stage to be honest as it all happened so quickly, but the road-trip there, being with my family & friends, meeting new people – all of that is what makes this memory so special to me.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Sabrina Carpenter! She’s so talented and such an amazing artist.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I’m always listening to so many different artists! As I said with my musical influences, I’m loving The Beatles at the moment, and any 60s/70s music!

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It’s hugely important to me as it lets me properly connect with them. I also LOVE making content. It lets me express myself creatively!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) THANK YOU!! The biggest thank you in the world, you all mean everything to me. I’m so grateful for all of your support, so lucky that I get to be on this journey with you! Love you always.
