Sarah Foret – The Beautiful Life
Q. What are the current projects that you are working on?
A. Well, I’m just working on “Beautiful People,” I have three independent movies that are coming out, that are in the works. So, other than that, that’s it.
Q. What can you tell us about the premise of “Beautiful People” and your character?
A. The premise of the show is about me, my older sister and my mom and our dad leaves our mother for a younger woman and it’s just the three of us in New Mexico. I get this scholarship to a prestigious high school in New York and my character is like a bookworm, really big on studying. So, I convince the family to move to New York and my older sister wants to be a model and we want our mom to kind of get a fresh start. So, we move to New York and it’s just about the different kind of people that we meet and how it changes our lives and how we help each other throughout our rough times. How we grow apart, it’s just a look at like realistic families today, broken homes and hard times, all that kind of stuff.
Q. What made you want to be a part of this show?
A. When I read the script for the pilot, the creator and writer for the show Michael Rauch is just amazing. He’s got such an insight, especially with women which is really weird, he writes these three female characters just so well. They are so definitive and rich and different and it’s really realistic in a heartwarming way about their relationship and how they help each other and where they are going in life. It’s just so rich and realistic that I totally wanted to be a part of it, I read the script and was like “I have to have that part!”
Q. Do you have a most memorable moment from filming the show?
A. We went to New York to film a couple of things for one day, because we film the show in Toronto even though it takes place in New York. We just went to New York for like Times Square and the Brooklyn Bridge, I had never been to New York before so we were on the Brooklyn Bridge at like five in the morning. We got to watch the sun rise and you could see the Chrysler building, it was so breath taking, it’s probably my favorite moment so far.
Q. Why should viewers take the time to check out the show?
A. The cool thing about the show is there are so many different characters and like ten different storylines that I think that anyone can find someone to relate to. My character is the younger crowd, like teenagers and people in high school and then my older sister is eighteen, nineteen and she works at a club and she’s a model and she’s dealing with relationships. My mom is a middle aged woman and she has her boyfriend, there are so many different walks of life that people can relate to.
Q. The show will be premiering soon, are you doing anything special for the premiere?
A. I’m working! We’re working and it’s on Monday night and we work Monday nights. We’re hopefully going to have some kind of preview, we’re going to rent a theater up here is what they were talking about and watching it all together on one of our days off. So, we can coordinate the time off.
Q. What sets this show apart from other family dramas?
A. There are a lot of similarities but I think that the fact that it takes place in New York and the fact that there are a lot of different dynamics. There are so many different ages and so many different storylines going on, I think that it makes it a bit more interesting. It’s really realistic, really like families today, it’s not dated, it’s just very much more realistic than what you find on TV now.
Q. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A. When I have spare time I love to read, I love to watch movies, I haven’t seen a lot of classics, so I’m trying to catch up on classics. I love to go running, I love to go camping, I’m trying to delve into photography, my character is supposed to be a photographer and so I am trying to learn a lot about it and kind of find an eye for it.
Q. Is there a summer movie that you’re looking forward to checking out?
A. I want to see Wedding Crashers, I haven’t seen it yet! It looks really funny, so that would be the one.
Q. What is your latest obsession, are you into any particular book, music group, sport or activity?
A. Running, I just started running, it totally calms me and centers me and gives me a lot more energy which is strange. That would be my obsession right now.
Q. What would you like to say to fans and supporters of your career?
A. Just thank you for supporting me and for watching the show and I just hope that they can always find something about the character that they can relate to.
