Simona Fusco Stratten – Beautiful Distraction
Q. What are some of the recent projects that you’ve been working on?
A. Beerfest, we just shot that and it’s coming out the 24th of August in theaters, it’s a Warner Brothers project. The other one I just finished shooting is Parental Guidance Suggested, another Warner Brothers production and that’s coming out in theaters in September. That’s by the same producers that produced American Pie and Final Destination.
Q. You’ll soon be seen in the movie Beerfest. What can you tell us about the premise for the movie and about your character?
A. Beerfest is a broad comedy, it’s about Oktoberfest. It’s about two American guys who go to Oktoberfest and there is this super secret beer competition. It’s like a Fight Club, but it’s beer drinking. They lose big time so they go back to the US and they train to be the best beer drinkers in the world. Then, they go back and they win. It’s funny and there are some great actors attached to this. One of them is Mo’Nique from “Girlfriends” and another is Eric Christian Olsen from the movie Not Another Teen Movie. Then, Cloris Leachman, Donald Sutherland and Will Forte from “Saturday Night Live.” Jurgen Pochnow, he’s in The Da Vinci Code, and of course, me! I played the leader of the Sweedish team, my name was Ulsa. I distracted all of the other teams, like the US team and the German team. I would distract them so the teams would lose. I would tell the girls what to do and how to distract them, like maybe flash the guys or do a sexy dance, something like that.
Q. What made you want to be a part of this project?
A. Because it was funny, something different. I love comedy and the movie is hilarious, it’s really a funny movie. Plus, to be part of a cast like Cloris Leachman and Donald Sutherland is not too bad!
Q. How was getting to work with director Jay Chandrasekhar on the movie?
A. Jay Chandrasekhar, he also directed Dukes of Hazzard. He’s so sweet, very humble, nice and calm. Some directors get very outrageous but he was mellow and under control, a very good director.
Q. Do you have a most memorable moment from filming?
A. Probably my sex scene, it was my first sex scene. It was a little awkward because you’re on the set and everyone is watching you. You’re in the middle of this beerfest and it was just awkward, that was definitely my most memorable moment.
Q. Why should viewers take the time to check outBeerfest?
A. Like I said, it’s like Fight Club, only with beer drinking. It’s a hilarious comedy, you’ll see, you’ll laugh your butt off. I’ve never done a bad movie, they’re all incredible movies. Nobody will be disappointed, just bring some tissues because you’ll be crying from laughing so much.
Q. You’ve done modeling and acting. Is there anything else you’d like to try your hand at?
A. Well, I think maybe singing eventually. Right now I really just want to concentrate one hundred percent on acting. No modeling, no other distractions, just acting.
Q. Where can fans go to learn more about you? Do you have a website?
A. Yes I do, it’s www.simonafusco.com, they can see what other movies I have coming out. I’m in Maxim Magazine in the August issue with a six page spread promoting the next movie that I’m working on.
Q. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A. I don’t have much spare time, but when I do, I try to do something that has as little to do with work as possible. Go to the beach and relax and go horseback riding with the horse I own. Just get away from everything.
Q. Do you have a latest obsession? Are you into any particular book, music group, sport or activity?
A. I just saw Poseidon, the movie, and I really loved it. I thought it was really a great movie. For a band, I love Coldplay and Evanescence.
