Q) Olympia is such a strong, determined character—what do you enjoy most about playing her, and what aspects of her do you relate to the most?

A)  Olympia is a dream come true role. I have a lot in common with Olympia; I relate to her in a way of breaking the ceiling.

Q) In “Game Face,” Olympia is determined to win the class action suit, and her ambition is clear. How does she balance her drive for success with the moral challenges that come with her cases?

A) Olympia is specific and intentional about who she represents – that’s the hardest part about playing her, being specific on the roles she takes, being clear on the impact and intention she takes.

Q) There’s a lot of tension in the courtroom, but Olympia also has some sweet moments with her colleagues. How is Olympia able to balance her tough, career-driven side with the softer, more personal side of her relationships?

A) You rarely see Olympia at home because she never stops working. She is constantly in need of gratification. Courtrooms are the scariest scenes. It’s a “Blackbox theater.” In the courtroom, every person is told to look at you and watch you. As an actor it’s jarring.

Q) Olympia had a big moral clash with Matty in a recent episode. Do you think Olympia truly believes in her “smart lawyering” or was there a part of her that questioned if she crossed a line?

A) Matty and Olympia have a real friendship where they can sit in the discomfort of an uncomfortable situation.

Q) You share such a strong dynamic with Kathy Bates on screen, particularly during your character’s complex relationship with Matty. How do you approach creating that tension, and what is it like working alongside Kathy?

A) Kathy is phenomenal. It’s an honor to be on the other side of wanting to be liked by her. It meant the world to be able to deliver. Kathy [Bates] blind trusted me from one audition.

Q) Olympia has had her sights set on making partner. With only a few episodes left in the season, what can you tease about her journey? Is she willing to do whatever it takes?

A) The finale will rock everyone’s socks off! Episodes 16-18, characters will be taking the audience on a ride and surprise everyone. Olympia will hold up the image of her client while doing what’s best for her to make partner.

Q) “Matlock” has taken a fresh and exciting approach to the legal drama genre. What do you think sets this show apart, and why should new viewers tune in now?

A) Kathy Bates 2. Jennie Snyder Urman and writing team 3. Amazing makeup and lighting team 4. Great marketing

Q) What are the other recent projects that you have been busy working on?

A) To Live and Die and Live – premiered at Sundance coming out in summer
