Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) We’re a pretty good mix of a lot of genres, but we’re primarily a high energy rock band with influences from modern rock, pop, and hardcore/metalcore. We sound like Sleep Signals.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) We’re heavily influenced by artists from Bullet for My Valentine and A Wilhelm Scream to The Weeknd and Michael Jackson. We’re definitely all over the board as far as musical influences go.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “One Life.”

A) Our new song “One Life” is a song we wrote about coming back from our bus wreck in 2021. We were on tour with POD/From Ashes to New in August ’21 and a semi driver fell asleep and hit us on the interstate. Everybody was in the hospital and rehab for a long time, and we weren’t sure if we’d be able to continue as a band. This song is about never taking anything for granted and living our best lives. We’re so fortunate to be back on the road doing what we love after everything we’ve been through.

Q) The song came out in February. What kind of response have you been receiving from your fans?

A) The response for “One Life” has been amazing! We’ve had a lot of fans calling in and requesting at their local stations and several stations have been spinning the track. We’ve also seen a really great response when we play the new songs live, it’s amazing how quickly people have learned these new tracks and sing along every night with us on tour!

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) We did a strictly performance video for “One Life,” but just dropped another track called “Fearless” that is a bit more story driven. That song is also about coming back from the wreck. I was wrapped up in bandages in the video and struggling to get out of them throughout the story, eventually breaking free at the end. It kind of symbolized the struggle everyone went through to heal after the accident.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) We just write songs that speak to us. The process varies greatly, but usually we’ll go into the studio with some song ideas, and we’ll put together the songs with our producers. The songs can start with a guitar riff or a catchy chorus hook or tag. Anything can become a song!

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) We’re in the studio throughout the entire process working closely with our producers. We really enjoy the collaboration.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) We are releasing some new singles over the next several months that will eventually make it on to a new EP!

Q) You are currently on Part II of The Sinking Ship Tour. Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) We love performing anywhere we can, but a few of our favorites tend to be Tri-Cities, WA, Minneapolis, MN, Destin, FL, and Vancouver, WA. The Washington markets because they’re close to our current home base and our fans there are amazing, Destin because it’s right on the beach and such a cool venue and fan base, and Minneapolis because it’s our original hometown. We always love playing these markets every chance we get!

Q) What track(s) from Sleep Signals do you still enjoy playing at your live shows?

A) We’ve really enjoyed playing the new ones, but my favorites are still probably “Fireproof” and “Means. “Fireproof” is just such a catchy song and we had a lot of radio success with it, so everyone sings along in the crowd. It means is just pure energy and it always pumps us up to play it live!

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I think it would be amazing to collaborate with someone from the pop genre like The Weeknd. Pop and rock/metal are blurring the lines so much right now. I think those kinds of collabs are not too far off from happening!

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I’ve had the latest Bad Omens on repeat a lot since it came out. We’ve also been listening to a lot of Sleep Token lately. We have to check out the other “Sleep” bands. [laughs]

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) We try to be extremely responsive on our socials with our fan base and strive to respond to every comment and message. It gets hectic while we’re on tour and some of them fall through the cracks because it’s so hard to keep up, but it’s important to us to make that connection with our fans. Our fans are our life blood, they keep the machine moving forward! We appreciate our fans so much!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you to everyone who continues to support us and helps us to show what a little independent rock band can do! We love meeting people out on the road and hope to see y’all out at a show so we can shake your hand and get to know you!
