Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Maximalist electronic metal hybrid through the lens of a Gemini pop girlie with rage issues and an affinity for vampires

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Lately I would say Limp Bizkit, Slipknot and Evanescence

Q) Your new album III is out now. What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Most of the songs on this album were done over Discord with my producer friend Aaron G. Edwards. We would build tracks together while streaming and then I would write lyrics and record on my own in my home studio. I tend to write to tracks. I just enjoy hearing something I like first and figuring out the words and melodies that work best. I write down a ton of lyrics all the time in my Notes app, so I’ll pull from there a lot and see what works with the track or just write something new on the spot!

Q) You described the album as the sonic definition of feminine rage, heartbreak, & return to power. Do you have a favorite song or one that was more emotional to perform for you?

A) Definitely “A Million Pieces” feels the most emotional to me and I love to perform that one as well. It was one of the last ones to come together for the record and it really surprised me how cool it came out. Plus, the lyrics are super personal.

Q) What song from the album has challenged you the most creatively?

A) “Through the Fire” was definitely the most challenging to put together and to get it to a place where I felt satisfied. I was working through a lot of emotions at the time so it’s very personal as well and also one of the first tracks I started experimenting with screaming. I really loved how the screaming vocals came out which was really exciting, so I really wanted to make the track work for the album. I’m so glad it’s on there!

Q) You most recent singles “Exploding with Power” and “Rip My Eyes Out” were added to Apple Music’s Breaking Metal and Breaking Hard Rock playlists and have amassed well over 3.5 million Spotify streams. What has it meant to you to receive more recognition for your music?

A) It definitely has been very encouraging to see the love as I enter this new space in metal music. I previously had never gotten any editorial playlist love until I started releasing this new heavier material. Every single has been added to really cool playlists on either Apple Music or Spotify amongst all these amazing bands. I’ve always been such a metal music fan so it’s really sweet to feel my sound is being accepted by respected tastemakers in the world, definitely makes me feel like I’m headed in the right direction

Q) You were touring until the end of July from New York, LA, Texas, Arizona and DC.  Is there a song you are most excited to play to play live?

A) I’m always really excited to play “Rip My Eyes Out” because it’s really cool to take the crowd by surprise with the intense change in vocals. The crowd always reacts in a super positive way and it’s fun to see their reactions. [laughs]

Q) What do you hope people take away from III it or lingers with them emotionally?

A) I would hope people could take away a cathartic and emotional release of pent up rage or doubt and feel a sense of empowerment afterwards that keeps you coming back

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Fred Durst.

Q) What artist/musician are you currently listening to and why?

A) Honestly, lately I’m mainly only listening to reiki healing mediation music/Solfeggio frequency tones. [laughs] I’m just in a healing kind of place right now where I’m focusing inwards and regenerating. If it’s not that, I guess I’ll be bouncing around between black metal like Darkthrone/Emperor, etc. and my main girlies Lana Del Rey and Weyes Blood.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Just that I love and appreciate you all so much! It was so surreal to get to meet and perform for so many of you this summer and I hope to do it all again soon <3
