Q) How was your role as Daniela on “Devious Maids” originally described and did it evolve or change at all from the audition to who we see on screen?

 

A) I only knew so much the whole casting process so I definitely think it evolved a lot throughout the entire season. I don’t want to say much because I don’t want to spoil it!

 

Q) You play the cousin of Carmen, who is strong and fiery. How does she and Carmen butt heads and what similarities do they share?

 

A) Dani is definitely a mini Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez). She comes to LA looking for her because she knows Carmen also moved to LA chasing her dreams of being a Hollywood star. Dani is following in her steps. She’s looking for someone to guide her, support her and understand her.

 

Q) Much like Carmen, your character Daniela is a pop star. What kind of musical background do you have? Who are some of your influences and favorite artists?

 

A) My dad is a singer and musician so I have been around the music scene all my life. I love singing, but I just do it as a hobby because it makes me happy. I don’t think I want to pursue it. I’m not that good at it. I’m really into Etta James right now, but I like every type of music. I don’t really have a favorite. I don’t listen much to today’s music though. I prefer older music. I grew up listening to 90s pop and I keep listening to 90s pop, also a lot of Spanish ballads because of my dad.

 

Q) What was your favorite part of working opposite of Roselyn Sanchez?

 

A) She’s absolutely amazing! I couldn’t ask for a better castmate to work with in my first American TV show. She is so funny and patient and guided me every step of the way. I love her!

 

Q) Everyone has secrets to hide, what can you tease about Daniela’s?

 

A) Daniela is going to have some hot scenes this season with someone that the fans already know from a past season. So…!

 

Q) Is there a specific moment that you are excited or nervous to see how it plays out on screen?

 

A) These hot scenes I’m telling you about! I have never had to do sex scenes before so I’m so nervous about this. What are my dad and brother going to say?! [laughs]

 

Q) What was your favorite behind the scenes moment from filming?

 

A) Dania Ramirez is a prankster so she was always pranking everyone on set. I would just wait to see what she was going to do next.

 

Q) Are you looking forward to the episode instant fan feedback from social media?

 

A) Oh yeah, since the first episode I have been live tweeting and I read absolutely everything. I love to read the reactions from the viewers. It is the best part!

 

Q) What have you taken away from your experiences being a part of the show?

 

A) It was a wonderful experience. I met so many great people that I hope to see again soon. I just loved shooting every day and spending time with cast and crew. It’s a great and fun show to be part of.
