The DiMeos all try and get the Queen’s Guard to crack, but Ray (Mason Cook) quickly grows tired of the game, telling Maya (Minnie Driver) they need to ask Martin (John Cleese) for the money for the house so they can go home. Maya lies and tells him she already has the money on lock but that he can never mention it since it’s a British pride thing. She vows to give herself one last day of enjoyment in the city before breaking her father’s heart.

Jimmy (John Ross Bowie) and Kenneth (Cedric Yarbrough) go to a bar where Jimmy reminisces about old times when his band played in a small London pub. He meets a man named Rowan (Adam Campbell) at the jukebox, and having similar taste in music and being in a similar predicament, they quickly become close friends. Jimmy is happy he finally has someone to hang out with that shares his interests.

Maya sobs while eating ice cream with her dad. Her dad tells her not to cry, assuring her he’ll visit America and be a staple in her life, fixing any problems she might have. With this declaration, she decides to lie and say the house issue is new–not the reason they came to London.

The whole family goes to Martin’s house so Maya can finally take the plunge and ask for a check, but when she gets there, she sees that Martin has invited her entire family over for a reunion to celebrate their reconnection. Ray can’t seem to click with any of the family members, but Dylan (Kyla Kenedy) finds out she is the spitting image of a girl named Josephine who passed away. Josephine was wild, doing things like wrestling tigers and having a great sense of wit, and Dylan is pumped to look like her.

Kenneth dreams about having a whirlwind romance, but he’s not having much luck. JJ (Micah Fowler) steps in to be his wingman, but Kenneth refuses his help, having been burned by them in the past. This doesn’t stop JJ, as he tries to set Kenneth up with his relatives and the servers at the party. Finally, he rents Kenneth a cool car in order to party and pick up chicks. They go to a venue basement in order to meet one of the Mels from the Spice Girls. However, it turns out the event is just for a small nobody musician named Mel D (Rich Fulcher).

Kenneth tells JJ he doesn’t need him to be his wingman, but JJ admits he saw job applications in Kenneth’s house and wanted to prove he was good for something. Kenneth tells him he was just exploring his options, figuring he would be his aid until he went to college and then move onto something else. JJ understands but says he wanted to offer him something so they could still be friends. Kenneth promises him that no matter what, they’ll remain friends forever.

Martin tells Ray that if he wants to connect with his English relatives he should be polite, gracious, and know when to end a conversation. Ray tells him that, although he was forbidden to bring up a topic, he wants to thank Martin and be gracious.

Maya coaches Jimmy on what to say in order to pretend they just got the phone call about their house. They put on a big show for Martin, who is immediately suspicious. The fact that Jimmy is a terrible liar doesn’t help matters. When Martin tells Jimmy to find his phone so he can talk to the lawyer, Maya realizes that Martin knew about the house all along, asking how he figured it out. Just then, Ray walks in and tells Maya she doesn’t always know best.

Martin tells Maya that he can give her his love or his money, but she cannot have both. Although three days ago the choice would have been obvious, now she’s not so sure. Martin’s wife Frances (Liz Robertson) shows up at the DiMeo’s hotel door, admitting to Maya that Martin is broke and was too proud to tell her the truth. She wants them to have a relationship, but it can’t be based on a lie.

Maya goes to Martin’s house, saying that she’s chosen the check. Martin is shocked, offering him both his love and a vase instead. Maya calls him out on being broke, revealing that Frances told her everything. She wishes they could stop having such a tumultuous, dramatic relationship and asks if they can try being honest and kind to each other. She asks him for money, he says he has none to offer her, and she says she still loves him anyway.

Jimmy goes to Rowan’s house in order to pick up the phone he left there. When he gets there, he sees that a man named Nigel (Andrew Sykes) is there. Jimmy is heartbroken that he’s not Rowan’s only friend like he thought, but Rowan assures him this doesn’t take away from what they had.

Dylan tells Jimmy it’s okay to be sad about his friend, and he admits he misses the kinds of friends he used to have before life got in the way. Ray suggests he text them so they can get together, and Jimmy does. His phone starts blowing up from messages from his old pals, and he stays behind to talk with them while Dylan and Ray go say goodbye to Martin.

Ray tells Martin that, although they didn’t get the house back, they found something much more valuable in their relationship with him. Just then, Jimmy comes by on a tour bus and announces that his old friends are now working in loans and mortgage. They’re going to help them get their house back.

When the DiMeos gets back home, Dylan hangs up the picture of Josephine and JJ puts up the photo of him and Jimmy overlooking London. Jimmy plays some music while Maya crosses out her dad and stepmom from the list of things she hates on the wall while Facetiming Martin.
