Star – When Stars Fall

The episode opens with part of the cast dancing and singing happily while Jayden (Trayce Malachi) dances in the middle of the room. Suddenly, the kid disappears as Cotton (Amiyah Scott) screams his name and it is revealed that everything has been a dream Cotton had. She wakes up screaming her son’s name, but Cassie (Brandy Norwood) hears her and enters the room to calms her down promising that she will get her boy back. She tries to meet with Xander (Chad Michael Murray) on her own, but Cotton won’t allow it.

 

In the meantime, on the other side of town Noah (Luke James) is injured inside of his crashed car. That is until Maurice (Lance Gross) shows up and helps him by calling an ambulance that would take him to the hospital.

 

Cassie and Cotton meet with Xander at the agreed place in order to get Jayden back. Xander threatens Cassie with taking his money out from the woman’s club and asks her to give him the hard drive she stole from him. The woman does as requested, but before anything else happens she shoots Stephen (David Busby Jr.), the man that’s been helping Xander with the kidnapping. She also assures Xander that regardless of what he does, her club will be fine and just like that she escapes along with the kid and her niece.

 

Noah has been finally taken to the hospital where he is recovering from the accident. Dr. Henderson (A. Smith Harrison) walks in and lets him know that he will be prescribing some pain killers for him as part of the treatment, but the man refuses to take them alleging that he is an addict and it won’t be good for him so he will manage the pain himself. Minutes later Star (Jude Demorest) walks into the room with her baby in a carrier so Noah can see him. They talk about what’s next for them and the woman expresses that even though she wasn’t expecting for that to happen now the baby means the world to her and wants the best for him as possible. While they talk cheerily about the future of their son Charlene (Nealla Gordon) watches them from afar.

 

Alex (Ryan Destiny) and Derek (Quincy Brown) went out to buy a car and while they were looking around, one of the sales girls approached and asked Alex about which man Star would pick – Noah or Jackson (Matthew Noszka). Alex gets uncomfortable by the woman’s question and Derek jumps in to help her out of the situation.  Maurice meets with Mateo (William Levy) and informs him that he had release Gigi’s (Keke Palmer) new album and wants Mateo’s support to bring his label into Gravity Records. Matteo makes it clear that if he wants to do that that he should ask Carlotta (Queen Latifah) for it since this is her label. Maurice doesn’t seem to be that convinced.

 

Cassie is discussing with Carlotta how responsible she feels for what happened to Jayden and she also assures her sister that Xander is finally out of their lives, but Carlotta won’t entirely believe it. As they are talking someone knocks at their door revealing to be the women’s mother Christine (Patti LaBelle) along with their stepfather Calvin (Ben Vereen). Carlotta immediately reacts and asks them to go away. Christine wants for Calvin to be near with his family since he is sick now, but Carlotta refuses to let him anywhere near her grandson. When the man asks why she doesn’t want him there she confesses that is because he raped her, leaving her mother surprised. She doesn’t believe her at all and decides to leave with Calvin.  Miss Bruce (Miss Lawrence) shows up and updates Simone (Brittany O’Grady) and Alex on Star’s status and also lets them know that they have been considered for the ASA’s and they need to do a campaign as a group in order to make it there. Alex doesn’t seem to be that excited at first since she has just started her solo career, but Simone convinces her that this is something they been wanting since they started. Suddenly, the moment of bliss is interrupted by a call from Angel (Evan Ross) informing something that she doesn’t seem to like at all. Simone goes in search of Mateo and asks him why he moved Angel to Gainesville, FL without telling her, but the man lets her know that he was spotted at the festival and ICE has been sniffing around. He also tells her that he is working with his connections to help Angel, but it may take up to six full months to actually do it.

 

Maurice pays a visit to Noah and lets him know about the latest news. In the meantime, Star talks to Simone about how Jackson is not returning any of her calls when she suddenly hears a noise. As she goes and check who is in the room, she notices that a woman is standing by her baby’s crib. When the woman turns around, Star gets surprised to see Arlene’s sister there. The woman confesses that she was the one who killed the girl’s father when he shared that he had killed her sister. She also makes sure to let Star know about the damage she had caused to her family. Star goes mad and jumps over her and begins to beat her repeatedly. The medical staff walks in and pull her away from the woman who is still lying on the floor screaming.

 

Later that day Carlotta and Noah are discussing about what happened when a CPS worker named Courtney (Kristen Wharton) walks in to announce that while the whole incident is solved the baby will be held in custody due to Noah’s addiction issues. The man confirms that he hasn’t done anything in months and the woman agrees to give him the test again. Miss Bruce talks with Simone about the recent situation and how knowing that the baby will be in the system would affect her sister. Still, they have faith that she will get bail and be out sooner than expected.

 

Charlene is speaking to the reporters about her encounter with Star when Simone comes out and interrupts her alleging that she is a liar. She spots Jackson watching outside his car from the other side of the sidewalk and she walks towards him to ask him to support her sister. He seems reluctant at first and also somehow concerned when Simone explains to her what just happened to Star’s baby. Simone tells him that Star can’t stand losing someone else and then Jackson leaves.

 

Cotton and Cassie discuss about Star and how she will remain in custody for a while. Also, they are sad to know that Christine does not believe a word Carlotta said about Calvin. Later that day Noah’s blood test results have proven that he has been clean so now he can have the custody of David. Cassie pays a visit to Calvin and questions him about what happened between them when he used to take her to their “fishing trips.” He starts to digress to avoid the conversation, but the woman faces him. Sadly, she nothing from him. She yells at him for what he did to her sister and tells him that she feels as dirty as Carlotta for having his blood.

 

Noah is having a one on one moment with his son when Jackson arrives and confronts him by saying that he had spent months trying to be the man star and Davis deserve, but Noah replies that he even though he’s not trying to get in the way of his relationship with Star, he won’t keep apologizing for being Davis’ father.

 

Simone and Alex show up at Cascade, a roller-skating club where they are planning to meet with Houston Connelly (Shari Headley) to convince her to include Take 3 in the ASA Billboard. As soon as they spot her, they walk over her, but she refuses to change her decision by enlisting all of the situations they have been involved in recently and how they don’t want to be associated to those kind of scandals. Simone gets mad at her and tells her that if she is basing her decision on those things then she does not know what it’s like to have a real artist in front of her face. Miss Bruce meets with Noah at the same place and tries to talk to him about the recent events of his life. It is then when Noah confesses that he does not know how to be a father and feels like there is so much going on in his life at the moment, but then Miss Bruce tells him that since the moment she met him he has been fighting for what is right and she knows that he will be just fine.

 

Derek meets with Noah when he sees him leaving Carlotta’s house carrying Davis and they talk about how it’s been for Noah to be in charge of the kid on his own. He states how exhausted he feels, but at the same time he is happy. Simone and Alex are at the studio trying to record a song when Houston Connelly shows up and the young girl apologizes to her for what she said to her at the club. Houston makes clear that she still stands by what she said last tonight to Simone and proposes to Alex to join the ASA issue instead to what Simone does not react pretty well and storms out of the room.

 

Cassie visits Carlotta and tries to hand her a gun for her own protection since Xander is still out there and Calvin keeps coming back trying to see Jayden. She asks Carlotta to let her mother know about it, but the woman confirms that she knows exactly what happened. However, she refuses to believe it in order to avoid all the pain that it would bring over them. She also confesses that she got pregnant back on the day but the baby died a few days after he was born.

 

Simone apologizes to Alex for walking out on her, but Alex forgives her immediately as she knows about everything that the other girl has been dealing with. And as a way to make amends, they decide to put a song and dance at it. Derek pays a visit to Cassie and tells her that he wants to invest in her club as a way to help and reach to his community in a different way. Later that day we see Star singing while she is in prison and after she is done the cell bolt is opened.
