Q) Please tell us the premise for the film Reach and about your character.

A) My character is Daniel Hill.  The movie is about the power of one small gesture and how that gesture can save a life.  The new kid named Clarence West (played by Johnny James Fiore) comes into the school and befriends my friend Steven Turano (played by Garrett Clayton).  The friendship actually helps Steven.  My character plays the best friend to Steven Turano, except he is a Senior and Daniel is a Freshman.  My sister (Kimberly Hill) in the movie, who is actually my real-life sister (Raffaela), is also a Senior and use to be friends with Steven but isn’t really anymore because she is dating another Senior named Nick Perkins (played by Jordan Doww) who doesn’t like Steven and actually bullies Steven throughout the movie.  My character acts important and confident because he hangs out with Steven, but really he is a little quirky and is the uplifting comedic light-side of the film.  My character Daniel is like the Robin to Steven’s Batman, but there’s only so much my character Daniel can do to help Steven until Clarence joins the friendship. Then, it all changes.

Q) What made you want to be a part of the film?

A) My whole family was involved so I kinda had to. And I liked the message of the script.

Q) Was there anything you added to your role that wasn’t originally scripted for you?

A) Not specifically. I just spent time with my costars behind the scenes to really bond and synergize with them.  My character was pretty well defined in the script.

Q) What did you find challenging about this role?

A) I’ve had intense dramatic scenes before like in FAT CAMP with Chris Redd.  It was a serious scene because my character is sharing something very personal about himself.  But Chris and my director, Jen Arnold, made it so easy and fun especially when the camera wasn’t rolling.  In Reach, my most challenging scene was at the end.  Getting to the emotional state of mind needed for that moment was really tough for me.  I prefer to make the jokes and make others laugh.

Q) Talk about working with iconic actors Corbin Bernsen and Concetta Tomei.

A) Working with Corbin and Concetta was really an honor. My toughest scene was with both of them. It really put the icing on the cake!

Q) What were some of your most memorable moments from filming Reach

A) I will never forget behind the scenes and downtime in between filming.  Everyone got along, and all the actors made jokes. There was a lot of laughing and joking around.  We really bonded during those long, long hot days filming.

Q) Bullying is still such a relevant topic these days. What advice would you give kids in order to keep hope alive?

A) If somebody is going through something, just talk to someone…anyone! It doesn’t have to someone you’re related to.  You don’t have to know them personally.  It may even be easier to REACH out to someone you don’t know that well like a school counselor or teacher. The important thing is to express yourself out loud and get out of your head .  Hear the words aloud.  It helps.

Q) What do you hope viewers learn and take away from watching the movie?

A) When people watch this movie, I hope they understand how important one small gesture/moment can make and the impact we all have on each other’s life.

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the instant feedback you’ll receive to the movie?

A) It’s a bit nerve racking because I’m kinda a private guy, but it’s a high reward if I’m able to help someone.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I appreciate your for sticking around and following me throughout these last couple of year.  Stay tuned – I have more to come!
