Swaray – Glacier
By: Jamie Steinberg
Q) How would you describe your sound?
A) Animated trap music
Q) Who are some of your musical influences?
A) Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Biggie Smalls
Q) How does growing up in Maryland play a role in the music you make?
A) It’s everything. It’s where I come from. It’s where I get my lingo and style.
Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Glacier.”
A) I’ve been watching Dex’s rise since 2016 and when I got the opportunity to work with him, I couldn’t pass it up.
Q) How did you connect with Famous Dex to work on the track?
A) I was connected through a mutual friend.
Q) That alien synth loop is bananas! Where did the idea to include it come from?
A) I have to give all the credit to my producer, emacz. He sent over the beat and I just had to have it.
Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?
A) The blend of our two unique styles on one song.
Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?
A) We wanted to capture an organic feeling and vibe that best represented our relationship.
Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?
A) No, not necessarily. It all depends on how I’m feeling that day. I could either freestyle or record a written verse. I would say my writing style is versatile.
Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?
A) I have full control of my recording process and beat selection!
Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?
A) DC and ATL have been the places I’ve received the most love from!
Q) With concerts currently on hold, what do you miss most about being on stage?
A) The connection with the fans most definitely!
Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in soon?
A) I have two EPs dropping this year, just putting together the track lists now.
Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a track in the future?
A) Drake.
Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?
A) It gives the fans an inside look of what’s going on with me in and outside of music.
Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?
A) I love and appreciate all of y’all support and without y’all I wouldn’t be in the position I am today!
