Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) “Baby Daddy” is a five day a week job. So, I’m there more than I am at home. I see my costars and my crew more than my family. So, they are like my second family. Over the hiatus, though, I still managed to work on my music, which is something I am super passionate about it. My first single is coming out in the Spring and I recently released a preview bonus track called “Bossy” on my website and it is also on Spotify and SoundCloud. If you want to buy it, you can find it on iTunes. It is the first of a few songs I am going to be releasing prior to my actual single in the Spring. I’m super excited about that and I worked really hard with my producer on it. I call it “future funk” and it is really different. I’ve been wanting to do music for a while and this past break between Season 3 and 4 I had a good chunk of time (around five months off) so I said, “I’m going into the studio!” It turned out great so I am putting the finishing touches on my album.

Q) Where did the inspiration for your song “Bossy” come from and what made you decide to release it now?

A) It seemed like a good time since we are almost wrapping shooting Season 4 of “Baby Daddy.” So I thought it was a good idea to get the world ready for my next endeavor while I am not shooting. With “Bossy,” I wanted to throw out a free bonus track to the world so they could get a sense of my style and sound because it is kind of different. I wanted to come out with something new because I don’t want to be like everyone else. I feel like everything on the radio now sounds the same. I wanted to come out with something different. My inspiration for my sound and for “Bossy” is because I love Lenny Kravitz, Prince and Michael Jackson. I love alternative music and I love the sound of live instruments. So, I wanted to sort of bridge the gap between old school meeting new school. That is sort of my sound and the vibe that people are getting from “Bossy.” It’s very percussion driven with a lot of drums and really cool beats. It sort of switches to this electronic feel toward the end of the song. I like to mix genres because I am a fan of all music. That’s why I call it “future funk.” It’s a very eclectic, fun sound with electronic and alternative undertones. It’s a very futuristic sound with live instrument sounding with a mix of really cool different futuristic sounds I mixed in. It’s a cool, edgy sound that people haven’t heard before. I’m really excited about it.

Q) How can fans get involved with promoting your music?

A) I’m super involved with social media. I always like to post things on my Twitter and Instagram @Tahj_Mowry. I like responding to my fans and getting involved with people who have supported me my whole career. It’s a blessing to have! These are the people who are going to keep you  motivated. Fans are beautiful and I am so thankful for them. Everything will be on my Instagram and Twitter. Also, my website is a brand new thing for me. It’s http://www.tahjmowreyofficial.com and you can find all my social media on it. My tour dates for the future will be up on there. It’s the one stop shop for Tahj Mowry!

Q) When will you be releasing a full album?

A) The actual big single will be released in the Spring and the full album will come after that, probably late Summer.

Q) On this season of “Baby Daddy,” we’ll be meeting Tucker’s exwife. Will some backstory be revealed?

A) Yes! That’s one of my favorite episodes this season because once again Tucker is involved with something that people didn’t expect. Tucker has so many layers to him and so many issues going on in his life. There will definitely be a backstory. Tucker will explain everything and it is not going to be the most pleasant experience for Tucker and his exwife. You have to stay tuned for that! It’s pretty funny!

Q) Who are some guest stars we will see this season?

A) Aisha Dee is playing my exwife and she is already on ABC Family. She is amazing and I love her! She plays an amazing exwife for Tucker. She is so witty and almost evil in a way. It gets very funny! We have Peter Porte back as Bonnie’s exboyfriend. We have a lot of guest stars. Mary Hart is back! We tend to have really good guest stars on this show.

Q) Have you added anything to Tucker that wasn’t originally scripted for you?

A) I always tell people the reason I love working on “Baby Daddy” is because for the first time I was able to create the character. How I do it wasn’t necessarily what the writers had planned for him. We turned him preppy with the way he dresses and he is very outspoken. He doesn’t really think before he speaks. I’ve also added this thing with Tucker that even though he carries himself very well and is kind of proper and preppy, when he gets angry I have added a little street and sort of hood aspect to him. People tend to love it! I get a little black with it! I think it is so fun because people don’t expect Tucker to be like that. When he’s speaking the real deal sometimes you have bring that street cred out! That’s one of my favorite things I have added to him!

Q) Do you enjoy the instant fan feedback you receive through social media?

A) It’s amazing! I’ve sort of created this hashtag called #Tuckerisms. The fans have picked up on it so I don’t really even have to ask them to hashtag anymore, but every episode I try to remind them to send me their favorite “Tuckerisms” from the show because Tucker out of all the cast (between him and Bonnie) probably says the most ridiculous things. I like to know what their favorite lines are. They tweet it to me and let me know how funny the episode was and what they loved about the episode. I love that ABC Family does the live tweeting and it gets the fans involved and the cast involved with the people who are actually watching the show. You have to make time to speak with them and sometimes they give us cool ideas of what they want to see or what is annoying them about the love triangle. It’s just really fun!

Q) Is there anything you want to make sure fans know about this season of “Baby Daddy?”

A)  Be ready for even more ridiculous things! We see more of Tucker’s job and his exwife. We see him and Bonnie get into it again. In the first episode we see Tucker going back and forth because since the beginning he has known everything, but he is a really good friend to Danny, Ben and Riley. So, he does know how to keep a secret. Tucker is always the one everyone comes to with their issues. Even though he may not seem like he cares, he does give really good advice some of the time and probably should take his own advice more often because he has a lot of issues!

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) I just want to say thank you from day one since my “Full House” and “Smart Guy” days! It means so much to me to be in this business. It’s a blessing! And to be able to go from child actor to adult actor seamlessly and still have a fanbase that follows me and new fans that are coming on from “Baby Daddy,” and my music that I’m coming out with feels good! Who doesn’t like to be told they are loved? It just makes my day when I look at Twitter or Instagram and see these comments. It is fun for me because I get it from all different ages, which is cool to see! It’s such a blessing and just makes me keep wanting to do it. People will say, “I grew up with you! I feel like I know you!” And that’s what it is all about. People love comedy and they love watching their favorite person on TV. I’ve been blessed to be a part of multiple TV shows that are loved. I’m so blessed and I’m going to keep doing it. TV will always be something I am a part of because it is a big part of my life. Hopefully, my fans will continue to stick by me.
