Detective Ridge (Bryony Hannah) investigating the scene left after the woman jumped in front of the train in the previous opening. The detectives comment how this is an unusual suicide choice for a woman. In another area of London, Jasper (William Fichtner) is informed that there is nothing to worry about in regard to the police investigation on the young woman’s death. Viewers get a glimpse of his many workers constantly keeping up with information to feed back to him.
Back in New York, Guy (Nicholas Denton) has come into Helen’s (Elizabeth McGovern) office to discuss what he has newly learned about the Talamasca. After making a few demands, Helen comes up with a plan to get him out of his new job at the law firm. She persuades him to ask for time off due to a death in the family and he does just that. He is then given his first assignment with the Talamasca. The London motherhouse has gone rogue and Helen wants an inside glimpse of what is happening. This is where Guy’s gift will be handy. She has set up lessons for Guy to be taught how to read their coding systems and be financially supported in London with a solid backstory. Additionally, he is given information about every worker at the London motherhouse. Upon flipping through the pages, the viewers get the confirmation that Jasper is the reason for the rouge operation. The head of the house, Greg (Jonathan Aris), was the one to update Jasper earlier in the episode. Finishing up their chat on her instructions, Helen tells Guy they will no longer be in communication once he’s there. He is frazzled, still not understanding exactly what is expected from him and this new mission. Before they part ways, he realizes he’s never known her name. In a presumed final moment between the two, she tells him with a hint of emotion in her voice.
The mystery to the opening scene of the previous episode continues to unravel. The unnamed woman, we now know as Soledad (Simona Brown). Jasper has come in and taken control of the London motherhouse and it seems Soledad attempted to filter information back to Helen. She was unfortunately hunted down before she could deliver the information. Using the information card of Mr. Checkers (Will Brown), Soledad was able to gain access to a file room. Greg claims he cannot tell him more as it is “need to know” and Mr. Checkers finally calls out the changes made to the motherhouse. He says they all used to be like a family, now they are in a pirate ship. He yells that Greg is no longer the captain and pivots his yelling to a security camera in the corner of the room knowing Jasper is watching.
Guy strolls the streets of London looking for the new place he is set to work. It turns out to be a strip club and he is crudely greeted by the doorman, Jimmy (Karl Cam). He tells him to hurry and learn his lines. Moments later, he is back outside with Jimmy trying to persuade customers inside. As he is doing this, photos are being taken of him without his knowledge. Later that night, Guy heads to a bar near his flat for dinner and a beer. A mysterious blonde woman sits next to him and strikes up a conversation. They hold a fun, flirty banter as she asks him questions. He eventually learns her name is Keves (Amelia Clarkson). She is headed out to meet friends and encourages him to join along. Meeting Keves at the club, Guy is immediately overwhelmed with hearing everyone’s thoughts. He is not trained enough to know how to always tune things out. The chemistry between the two is finally sparked during a drunken makeout that matches the chaotic tone of the club. Soon, another woman approaches and makes out with both. Before walking away this new mystery woman whispers to him, “You’re in so much trouble.” Keves and Guy share a passionate night at his flat. However, she slips out before he wakes up.
The next morning at his job, Guy is enticed by a phone booth across the way. Coming off of his lunch break, he notices something is missing and it clicks for him to be a clue. He searches the trash as a city worker cleans the booth and finds it. It leads him to a campus and there he finds a phone with further instructions. This leads him to a hidden book and using his new found skill of cracking Talamasca code, it is a message from Helen. She is giving him instructions to keep tabs on Archie (Joshua Ben-Tovim). He is a man only called in for dire matters and she wants to know why Jasper has brought him into London. Guy watches from afar as Archie sits down with Greg for dinner. Guy gets closer in an attempt to listen in and get a photo in the form of a fake selfie. As he is doing this, Jasper walks by him. Knowing who he is, Guy discreetly follows him. He sees Jasper meet up with the other two. While listening in, Jasper catches Guy who instantly flees. In an intense few minute sequence, Guy follows Archie through the streets of London. There are times he seems to catch on but Guy always evades being seen. He follows him to a brick building and watches him appear to argue with a woman. The argument grows tense as the woman now fights for her life. He was given direct orders to never intervene, but entered the building to search further. He enters an apartment to discover Archie with a slashed throat. In a tense moment, he searches the source for a creaking sound. Sadly, he finds Keves hanging and seemingly dead. Earlier, she commented how she was breaking rules by being intimate with Guy. Now this comes to full understanding for the viewers. He is frustrated and angered by her death as be really begun to have feelings. He discovers that Archie isn’t dead yet. He appears to point to a backpack, however Guy does not grab it as he flees. The episode ends with Guy running as fast as he possibly can away from the building.
