Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) My sound is a little bit of country with a lot of soul!  Being a songwriter, I feel like I am able to passionately relay the message of my songs to the listener. That is very important to me and why I chose to write my own songs.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My influences are definitely classic country. Growing up, my Daddy owned a Country & Western nightclub. He raised me listening to the greats like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Tanya Tucker. These country legends and forerunners gave me my roots and deep love for music. They shined in a time when it was harder for women in the industry and the way for future women in country music.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Someone to Love Me Right.”

A) My new song was written during a time period when I was doing some “soul searching” spending time alone and not immersing myself in the dating scene. It was a time of learning who “I” was and loving myself. It was only then that I truly understood exactly what being loved properly looked like.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I believe that millions of people are hurting or have been hurt in the search for true love. My fans have certainly seen my journey in that search. I feel like everyone wants to be loved for who they really are and long for that one person to do that. I think everyone can resonate with the lyrics.

Q) How will the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video is going to be amazing! I love making music videos that tell the actual story visually. This video will be my favorite yet. I want it to be a true reflection of how I dreamt of the love I wanted, how I took the time to figure out what I wanted and waited for that. It will definitely have some emotional moments to film and then some scenes that will show the end goal. I hope it will resonate with the audience and maybe some will even see that they have the same goals.

Q) “Someone to Love Me Right” was co-written with Corey Lee Barker. What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) My songwriting process differs with each song. Some of the songs just flow right out and others you have to take a journey to get. It’s like going back to the situation you’re writing about and pulling those same emotions out to put those lyrics on paper. Sometimes you get a chorus and just work around that. Corey is incredibly gifted and is wonderful at helping pull those emotions out, working to find the right words and put it all together. Sometimes you cry and sometimes we laugh so hard until we cry. It’s an amazing process.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I am strongly involved in the production of my music from start to finish. It is definitely a huge process! It’s kind of like a music puzzle: each person involved comes together to make the music have the right flow, adding longer intros or music solos in the song, the hooks, the background vocals, etc. It is both challenging and rewarding. I feel like having the right team behind you is crucial. You have to be heard with where you want the song to go but also be open to other creative ideas. It’s a mesh of creativity and talent that is so fulfilling when you hear the final production.

Q) With this new single, is this a prelude to a full album or EP to come soon?

A) This is the third single from six songs that I recorded at the late and legendary Omni Sound Studios in Nashville. It is part of my first EP, which will include all six of those songs that I will be releasing later this year. I will be recording more of my original songs and plan to release a full album in 2026.

Q) You are a singer, an influencer, a vlogger and an inspirational speaker. How do you balance all these aspects of your life?

A) Balancing all the different aspects of my career is something that comes fairly easy for me. Having been in a domestic abusive relationship for seventeen plus years and not being allowed to work, go to school or use any of my creativity was not easy. It was all bottled up and couldn’t flow. Because of that, I have a passion to help others and use my gifts to do that. For me, the love and passion that I have inside burns so deeply and I feel like I have been given these gifts to inspire hope, love and healing in others. It’s not a choice for me; it is my mission in life. I will add that being a mom of six most definitely helped me learn to be a very organized and driven person!

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) This is a tough one for me because I would love to collaborate with several artists. For now, I would have to say the person I would love most to work with would be Jelly Roll. I saw him live a few times while I was performing at CMA fest and he moved me to tears each time. He comes across as very humble and authentic, and has a mission and passion to help others, like myself. I feel that passion and fire could really make a difference if we did a song!

Q) What artist/musician are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) My musical palette is very diverse with a love for every genre from classic to current. I am really loving Morgan Wallen currently. He has a unique sound, and his lyrics just catch me in the soul. He seems to be showing a softer, deeper part of himself lately and I can definitely appreciate that.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Connecting with my fans through social media is everything to me. They have watched my journey through the years by starting out as a vlogger, sharing the journey of my healing and finding myself after so long. Having people support you and your dreams and seeing you evolve to other parts of my career is extremely touching and dear to me. The best part is loving them, and helping to inspire them on their journey also!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I want each and every person who has and does support me to know how VERY much I love you and appreciate you. Each little “like,” “heart, “share” or “comment” does not go unnoticed with me. Without you, I wouldn’t be here, and I am here because of you. Your love and support have changed my life. You have believed in me through it all and I am filled with gratitude! Thank you, thank you, thank you! [blowing kisses] I LOVE YOU!
