The Flash – Seeing Red
By: Malasha Parker
Dr. Ambres (Lossen Chambres) walks into Orlin’s (Chris Klein) house and gets surprised when he pops up behind her. She’s bringing him groceries and gives him an update on Grace. She offers him medicine for his injuries, but he says he doesn’t need them. He wants to see Grace but he can’t because CCPD is still at the hospital. She realizes that he’s angry and tells him that is a good thing. She hands him a folder with metahuman targets that she received from someone at CCPD who also wants revenge on metas.
Norvok (Mark Sweatman) and Bork (Andre Tricoteux) are breaking into a building from an alleyway when Cicada comes down and siphons their power. They turn and begin to battle it out with Cicada. After taking multiple hits Cicada manages to get his dagger in Bork, but Norvok gets away.
Barry (Grant Gustin) and Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) are assessing the crime scene, when they notice the wounds look just like the ones on Gridlock’s body. Barry gets a text from Iris (Candice Patton) saying that another metahuman was killed in her apartment with the same C.O.D. They realize that Cicada is back and Barry says that he will get the team on it.
Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and Killer Frost are in an argument, when Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) walks in. She lets him know that she’s trying to help Cisco with the metahuman cure, but Killer Frost is constantly changing her equations.Caitlin’s tried asking Killer Frost why she doesn’t want her to help with the cure, but she won’t tell her. Ralph asks if Cisco has any luck, but he isn’t is at the Tannhauser offsite. She thinks that she can make the cure, but she needs meta DNA that hasn’t bonded fully with dark matter. Everyone has been killed that she can think of so not they need to figure out whose DNA they can get.
Sherloque (Tom Cavanagh) is looking through the entries of Nora’s diary. He’s asking himself questions about what everything could mean and why Nora was writing in the journal, when Iris calls him to the cortex. They’re going over the people that Cicada has killed in the last twelve hours. Sherloque says that something will bring him to them and then they get an alert. Barry, Nora, Ralph and Caitlin all head down to the scene.
Cicada is fighting with a woman when he gets a chance to cut her across the stomach. The team comes in and Ralph blasts him with a gun. He gets held up at the wall by Killer Frost trapping him with ice and Nora checks on the victim. She needs help so Caitlin runs over to assess her. While they’re doing that, Cicada breaks free and stabs his dagger into the ground, knocking every to the side. He walks over to Nora and picks her up and stabs her in the back– effectively knocking her out. Barry runs over calling out her name.
Iris and Barry are sitting at Nora’s bedside in the med-bay at S.T.A.R. Labs. Caitlin tells them the damage of Cicada’s cut, but it flooded Nora’s body with dark matter so it will take a while for her speed healing to kick in. Nora wakes up asking what happened to her and when she tries to move her legs, she gets scared and hysterical. Iris tells her that Cicada broke her back and they don’t know how long she is going to be paralyzed. Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) comes in to check on Nora. Barry gets worked up and tells the team that they need to find Cicada now. The ask Sherloque for some help and he shows them some pictures of the victims. While they’re trying to figure out the connections, Ralph realizes some specific characteristics about each person. Barry pulls up a metahuman arrest log from CCPD and they realize that Cicada must have gotten from CCPD.
Singh is giving a speech to his department about capturing Dwyer. Barry and Cecile show Singh the paper with the list of names, but Singh doesn’t think somebody from their department gave it to Dwyer. Barry gets worked up and leaves out of Singh’s office. Cecile follows him out and gives Barry an idea on what they could do with the metas on the list. She remembers how they wanted to get metas out of the city three years ago and she tells him that she will acquire the needed documentation while he gathers all of the metas that Cicada is after.
Caitlin is checking on Nora’s progress, but not much has changed. Caitlin goes to run some test, leaving Nora and Iris alone. Iris tells Nora not to worry because growth is growth. Nora starts freaking out and thinks that she might not get her powers back. She asks Iris if she could be left alone.
Ralph hears a crash and runs in to see Killer Frost shattering Caitlin’s board with cure research on it. Barry comes in and asks for Killer Frost’s help with gathering the metas. She says she knows where they should start. The Flash, Killer Frost and Elongated Man show up to Amunet’s meeting place. She blasts the room and they successfully find Norvok hiding in a corner. They show him the targets and ask for their help in getting the metas. Barry tells him Cicada isn’t going to stop when he hesitates and the four head out.
Cecile meets up with Singh again to ask for help moving the metas. He tells her he will make it happen. When Officer Jones walks by her, she feels something and asks if he’s alright, but he says he’s feel great.
They’ve gathered a lot of metas, but they want to fight Cicada instead of staying there. When Norvok tells them that they should listen to The Flash because he’s scene what Cicada can do firsthand Killer Frost follows Norvok and he tells her about how he got his powers. He says that he was saving a child when it happened and now he’s mad because of how he’s turned out. He’s only putting himself first now. Ralph, having overheard the conversation, comments on the situation and asks Killer Frost if she’s worried about Caitlin making the cure.
Barry says he has everyone except Shawna Baez (Britne Oldford). He goes to convince her to go with him, but she’s reluctant. When her powers get taken she thinks it’s The Flash, but Cicada appears behind her and Barry gives her the breach device so she can run. She can’t get it to work while Barry is fighting Cicada, but Barry gets away long enough for him to breach them both out of the building unscathed.
Barry and Cecile are talking when she feels anger from Barry. Barry wants to kill Cicada, but she tells him that he can’t let the rage consume him. She realizes that she felt the same anger from someone at CCPD and leaves to go get them.
Nora’s smiling because she’s able to wiggle her toes when Sherloque enters the room. He asks her about helping him get Cicada, but Nora says she already told everybody what she knows about The Flash Museum. He asks that maybe he could look at things from the archives because he can notice things that others have missed. He suggests that maybe it’s easier for him to go to the future and she asks if he wants her to take him to the future. He starts asking more questions to see if non-speedsters can go into the speedforce, but she says she’s not sure. While he’s asking questions, Iris walks into the door and asks to speak with Sherloque.
In the hallway Iris tells him that she will do anything to protect Nora, even from people she thought were her friends. She asks him why he’s investigating Nora. He tries to deter her, but she plays his voice recorder back. He admits he’s investigating her and tells her that he’s just following down a track that he sees. Iris tells him that sometimes she does the same thing and it’s the wrong track. Iris tells him that Nora is the wrong track to go down and walks back into the room to see Nora up on her feet.
Ralph finds Killer Frost to talk to her about the cure. He tells her that a lot of the other metas agree about getting a cure. She says that she doesn’t want it because one day Caitlin may wake up and decide that she doesn’t want to be a meta one day and Caitlin never asked her opinion. She’s nervous that if she’s gone who will protect Caitlin. Norvok tells them it’s time and before they leave, Ralph tells Killer Frost that Caitlin fought to get her back.
Cicada asks Officer Jones if he tipped off the cops, but he says that The D.A. is the one targeting them and gives Cicada the information on where the metas are getting picked up.
When the plane arrives, Cicada’s dagger slices the landing gear from the bottom and he comes in to syphon all the metas powers. While The Flash and Killer Frost stay behind, the other metas and Ralph leave to go get on the chopper. Barry starts to fight Cicada and Ralph tries to get a plan to get them on the plane. Shawna teleports herself onto the chopper. Ralph stretched himself to get everyone on safely.
Cicada, The Flash and Killer Frost are battling it out. Killer Frost gets some swings in when she makes her own dagger with ice, but Cicada still manages to throw the dagger almost hitting Killer Frost and Norvok. When the dagger starts to come back, Killer Frost freezes it mid-air. Barry starts to fight Cicada, but his suit is on the fritz and Iris realizes that Barry doesn’t plan on stopping before he kills Cicada. Nora flashes down to the warehouse and stops Barry before it happens. Cicada gets up in Barry’s absence and captures his dagger before he escapes. Nora apologizes for letting him get away but Barry just says she brought him back.
All of the metas got away and Cicada’s not using his dagger anymore. Killer Frost makes a comment about it not being cool that Cicada knew when and where the metas where going to be at the warehouse for transport. Everyone agrees and Iris wonders what kind of cop would help Cicada. Barry gets an alert from Cecile.
Cecile and Captain Singh are waiting for Officer Jones when he comes into the office. They ask him about accessing the files for Cicada and deduct why he would do it. He tries to escape, but Cecile reads his mind before he can. He spouts some angry words before he leaves. Singh makes a comment about her observation and says that her and Joe will be a force to be reckoned with.
Caitlin walks into the speed room and sees the board with the cure information on it fixed. She tells Caitlin that she got her something and she looks into a case to see that Killer Frost got a blood sample from Cicada. Sherloque finds out that there are two styles of language written in Nora’s diary.
After eating forty-seven tacos, Nora heads to bed. Barry stops her to tell her how much they love her and Nora gives them a hug before she leaves. Iris says that she’s back to her old self and so is Barry, but he disagrees. He says he didn’t know he could care for someone the way he does for Nora and Iris says that she never met anyone with a bigger heart than him. He’s a fantastic father and husband. This comment sparks something in Barry and he realizes that they need to wake up Grace.
Cicada snarls as he goes through a book with photos of Team Flash.
