The Flash – Success Is Assured

Evil Singh (Patrick Sabongui) is talking to the mayor about Eva (Efrat Dor) being released from the mirror. As she steps out in her Mirror Master suit, she tells him that the suit helps her maintain her acclimation process when she’s not in her chamber. She tells Evil Singh that it’s time to get rid of her husband and he leaves saying, “Success is assured.”

 

Cecile (Danielle Nicolet), Allegra (Kayla Compton), Ralph (Hartley Sawyer), and Nash (Tom Cavanagh) are helping Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) pack up her apartment to move in with Carla (Susan Walters). She gives Nash some advice on handling his relationship with Allegra. They express how they’re going to miss her and Cecile feels Frost’s sad energy. Carla comes in to assure Frost that she is also her mom before everyone leaves. Carla decides to run a few tests before they go. 

 

Barry (Grant Gustin) asks the team where they are on facial recognition, but they don’t have anything yet. They’re at the CCPD and as Barry talks about his job he realizes that Eva said she had a job to finish. They realize that maybe that means stopping Black Hole. Ralph has the diamond that Sue (Natalie Dreyfuss) stole and he gives it to Allegra. She shines her UV rays through it and aims it at the map on one of Barry’s boards. They find out it’s a warehouse with subterranean levels. Barry and Ralph leave to check it out. 

 

They have Allegra and Nash on the comms. Flash (Grant Gustin) informs them that all the guards were stabbed. They see all of the stuff in the depository. Elongated Man (Hartley Sawyer) finds files on things that Carver has on the Dearborns and says he’s taking the boxes. They start hearing Evil Singh pouring gasoline all over the warehouse. He tells them he doesn’t want to hurt anyone else, but he has to assure Eva’s success. Flash tries to get him to help them and bring Carver to justice. Evil Singh tells them that the night of the explosion Caver was there. He let the mirror keep Eva and sold her tech to the highest bidder. Carver is a dead man. Singh ignites the fire and Barry’s attempts to put it out don’t work. He flashes them out and tells Nash the only thing to do now is protect Carver. 

 

Joseph Carver (Eric Nenninger) tells one of his men to handle getting his items secured that were destroyed the night before. He knows someone is after him and he needs protection. Barry joins his table. He tells Carver that Eva wants to kill him and that she has been trapped in the Mirrorverse. He knows he already is aware of this. Carver says Eva can’t escape and this is about Barry’s wife. He shows Barry the video of Iris (Candice Patton) getting pulled into the mirror, saying Iris was a problem and her disappearance was fortuitous and needed to be dealt with. Carver says that if Iris is still left in the Mirrorverse then there is nothing left of her to be saved. The Mirrorverse warps the mind until the person inside is no longer recognizable. He advises Barry to move on and asks about Barry knowing Eva is after him. Barry mentions the location Eva visited and Carver tries to play coy. He leaves as his face morphs into a scared one. 

 

Kamilla (Victoria Park) tells Iris they won’t be able to find Singh if they can’t read the map. Iris turns from the replicate Flash suit she’s staring at. Iris says that every time she interacts with the Mirrorverse the neural dissonance gets worse, but they need to figure out how everything works. She starts thinking about Singh and her head starts hurting while the map comes into view. She says she saw thermal energy coming from a specific place. She thinks she can find him if she just focuses, but Kamilla is too worried about how it’s hurting her.

 

Ralph meets the Dearborns at his office. Before he can begin, Sue comes in as if she hasn’t already met Ralph before. She makes up a story about her whereabouts and her father wants to apologize for Ralph’s work. He asks Sue to help him find a pen outside the room so that he can tell her about all the information he found on her parents. He shares that Carver’s arsenal was lit on fire and then explains the Mirrorverse to her. Sue tells him that she already knew her parents were safe because Carver called to tell her. She requests for him to leave everything alone and they can finally go about their lives now. 

 

Dr. Light (Emmie Nagata) tells Sunshine (Natalie Sharp) that Carver is on the way. She asks a question but when she finishes, we hear the mirror shimmer. Dr. Light turns to look for her but Ultraviolet (Alexa Barajas) says she’ll pop up again. But when Dr. Light turns back to her gun, Ultraviolet is gone. He puts on her gear as Eva appears in the mirror. She moves to a window behind Dr. Light and snatches her into it. 

 

Carver comes looking for the three women only to find the apartment vacant. He sees the bullet hole in the mirror and leaves.

 

Allegra says she’s glad Carver didn’t take up his offer of protection. Barry notes that Carver doesn’t deserve to die, but he could be telling the truth about what happens there. Nash says that it could be neural dissonance. Carver comes into the room saying he’s glad someone believes him and wants the protection now. Allegra asks what happened to his killer minions. Barry mentions Eva and Carver says that if he gets protection he’ll get Joe (Jesse L. Martin) out of protection. 

 

It seems that Carla found something, but she needs help analyzing it. Frost offers her help, but Carla says she needs an expert in meta DNA. She then realizes the mistake she made. Frost says she probably just sees a monster like a man her father became, but Carla says that’s not the case. They share a moment of admiring each other and Frost tells her she’s awesome and she would like to get to know her better. Carla says the same. 

 

As Barry, Carver and Allegra are leaving the building Evil Singh comes out of the elevator and says he’s there to escort Carver. He takes Barry to the side and bargains to let him take Carver and that Eva will give back Iris. They won’t have to fight. He starts to persuade him more about bringing Iris home. Barry stares at him and then Nash jumps in and pops them all back to S.T.A.R. Labs away from Singh.  At the lab Nash sees Harry who says that the Barry he knew would never have considered that deal. 

 

They show Carver the video of Eva’s duplicates. Eva still can’t be seen because she’s supposed to be missing, so that’s why she hasn’t come after Carver herself. She took Singh because she knew he could get close. He tries to buy a gadget off of them. They attempt to come up with a place to hide him and Carver suggests McCulloch Tech. Nash suggests taking the sewer system and they all start to leave. Nash stops Barry to ask why they didn’t get Carver away from Evil Singh. He tells Nash he couldn’t flash him out of there and Nash says it’s because he offered him a deal. Nash mentions the Barry he knows wouldn’t have hesitated or considered the deal. Barry says it’s more complicated and this is different because Iris is his wife and he has to save her. Nash asks what he thinks Iris will say if she knew and Barry looks at him and walks away. 

 

Barry tells Carver that ARGUS will be there to take him into custody. Barry says that it’s not safe, but Carver says he had everything fixed to where Eva couldn’t get in. 

 

Nash tries to help Allegra again and she asks when he’ll stop. He responds, “Never.” As everyone is evacuating, Ralph sees Sue getting into a room. He deduces that she lied and offered to take her parents’ place in Black Hole. Ralph tells her she doesn’t have to do this but she says Carver is untouchable and she’s been trying to get close to Carver for years. She wants to kill him to let her parents out. Ralph tries to make her stop and tells her that he believes in her and knows there is still good in her. She gives him something that knocks him out. Allegra gives Barry the all-clear and Carver locks the place down. 

 

The force field disengages. Dr. Light, Sunshine and Ultraviolet walk into where Ralph, Allegra and Nash are located. They tell her Eva gave them a choice and they want payback. Eva is coming for Carver and they want to make sure no one gets in the way. 

 

They start to fight as Barry and Carver try to find a way to get the power back on. Carver uses his other men to handle the “traitors.” Barry runs into Evil Singh and tells him that he doesn’t want to do this. Eva breaks through his body and shoots Barry down. 

 

The women are still fighting the guards and they use what they can to finish. Allegra tries to talk Ultraviolet down, but she’s upset that Allegra left her at Iron Heights and doesn’t think they’re family anymore. Allegra uses the stone and her powers against Ultraviolet. It starts to hurt her mentally and we see her brain getting attached from somewhere else. Sue joins Ralph.

 

Carver is still watching when Eva comes through the screen. She breaks the mirror he trapped her in and points her weapon at him. Carver suggests to talk, but Eva just lists all the ways he betrayed her. He says he did what he had to do, so she will do what she has to do. Before she can move all the mirror pieces into him, The Flash runs in front of him. He says it’s not her decision that he shouldn’t be saved, but Eva says it is and moves a piece through Flash’s shoulder into Carver. He starts to say that she isn’t his wife, but Eva shares that she’s never felt more alive. He dies telling her she isn’t human. She then throws more pieces of glass into Barry. She says they aren’t enemies and that Iris set out to catch a bad man and together they could. 

 

Before the three women can finish the fight, Eva tells them to stand down. She tells Flash she’ll let them go, but he says they’ll never stop running after her. The place is all hers now so they need to leave.

 

Eva holds a press conference at CCPD and says she’s been held hostage and her husband saved her only to be murdered. She says she’s working to find his murderer and she’ll be taking over McCulloch Tech.

 

Sue says she’ll be going home now that Carver is dead. Ralph tells her she can’t because Eva framed her for Carver’s murder.

 

Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) tells Barry that he’s going to find a way to stop Eva and get Iris back. She states that he should focus on the love he has that drives him to stop the villains instead of all that he’s lost. He tells her that he’s going to miss her and Carla comes to tell her it’s time to go. He talks to Frost quickly and Caitlin leaves out of the apartment with Carla. 

 

Nash tries with Allegra again and she tells him thanks for the stone which made her cousin relive her worst memory. Barry comes in to tell them that they still have hope to get Iris and the others back. Cecile says they have something else and Joe joins the group. He tells them, “Let’s go save some people we love.”

 

Iris has been working for hours but she says, “Barry wouldn’t give up. And the woman that he married wouldn’t either.” She finds Singh’s location and as they’re celebrating,Iris’ head starts to hurt. She bends holding her head in pain as she suddenly crystallizes and vanishes before Kamilla can make it to her.
