The Flash – Time Bomb

Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) goes to 2049 to tell Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) that another Cicada showed up after Dwyer (Chris Klein) took the cure. He tells her that he knows, but he has no idea who the new Cicada is. Nora repeats what Thawne told her to do, but Thawne tells her that he can’t help her anymore because he doesn’t know what to do. He tells her it’s too late and the only thing she can do now is tell her father everything.

 

Orlin wakes up in the cabin with Grace (Sarah Carter) from the future telling him about his injuries. He asks who she is, so she shows him a toy that he gave her from the night of the enlightenment. He remembers that night and she tells him that she remembers everything he taught her. She came back from the future so that they could work together again. She leaves him to go take care of something. She tells him when she returns they’re going to figure out how he gets his powers back.

 

Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Barry (Grant Gustin) are talking to doctors at the hospital about Dr. Ambres’ relationship with Orlin. They tell them that the only time she seemed happy was when she was with the girl in the coma. They realize that everyone has been telling the truth and that Ambres was probably the only one working with Dwyer. Barry asks if Nora is okay and she worriedly tells him she doesn’t know what to do. He tells her they’ll figure something out.

 

Sherloque (Tom Cavanagh) is looking through Nora’s journal entries that he has successfully had translated. He doesn’t find the name of the person that she’s working for in her entries before he gets called to the cortex by Cisco (Carlos Valdes).

 

Iris (Candice Patton) and Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) come in to the new table that’s up. Cisco asks if they’ve found Cicada, but they haven’t heard anything yet. Iris realizes that this Cicada seems the same, but also like Cicada can take control of them. There is an alert from the Starchive where they house all of The Flash related things. They realize something was stolen. Ralph and Iris go to the Starchives while Sherloque and Cisco go to woulds to look for the time-sphere. Iris asks if they see it and when she realizes that they’re both looking at the same thing, they determine that something is not right. Nora and Barry meet Sherloque and Cisco to check out the time-sphere. They think it’s a duplicate, but with Operation Shazam we see Iris makes a scratch on the one at the Starchives and it shows up on the one in the forest. Sherloque tells Barry that it’s no coincidence that the time-sphere from the future came at the same time as this new Cicada kidnaps Orlin. They realize it’s a Cicada from the future.

 

Cicada makes a hole in the wall behind a security guard. She’s there to find something inside the files he’s protecting. The security guard comes from around the corner and starts shooting at her, but she dodges the bullets. She eventually throws her dagger at his throat. She gets the file she came for and summons her dagger, leaving the security guard dead on the ground.

 

Barry, Nora, Joe and Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) are assessing the crime scene. Cicada was after the cold case file. Barry offers to assess the scene quickly and they clear the room. He also mentions that time-sphere from the future. After reviewing the scene, Barry sees that a file from 2017 is the only one missing. Joe and Cecile leave to figure out which one it is.

 

Cisco and Kamilla (Victoria Park) are at Jitters making their relationship social media official when Ralph decides to join them. He starts asking Kamilla questions about meeting the team and Cisco lets them know he’s in the middle of a date. However, Kamilla has to leave for a photoshoot. Ralph mentions Barry needing to speak to Cisco, which could have been texted. Cisco walks Kamilla out, while Ralph watcheds them with a smile on his face.

 

Sherloque pulls out the blueprints of Thawne’s time-sphere when Iris walks in on him. She tells him if he needed information he could have just asked. He says it’s about a new lead, so Iris asks him how long he’s been looking into it. He starts explaining, but stops when he notices something and walks out. Iris looks at the paper her left and reads “The timeline is malleable.”

 

Barry, Cisco and Nora go to an ATM after getting the news from Joe that a meta attack happened there two years ago. Two people died and the meta was never ID’d. Cisco decides to vibe the wall because everything else had to be replaced. He sees a woman’s powers accidentally compromise the machine. After she leave, Grace’s parents go to the ATM and when her father inserts the card a huge explosion happens. Grace sees everything happen. Cisco tells them what he saw. Nora pieces together that the new Cicada is Grace Gibbons from the future.

 

Future Grace comes into the cabin where Orlin is and immediately starts destroying things. She gives Orlin the file with some evidence in it. She tells him that the CCPD didn’t do anything about her parents murder and they just left it all to The Flash. She tells Orlin it’s not a chemical burn on the evidence, but dark matter residue that she can track to the meta – which she does. She tells Orlin that their mission can finally succeed, by killing all the metahumans. She wants to start with the one that killed her parents.

 

Barry, Nora and Joe are at the location of the meta that Grace is looking for. Joe starts asking the man if he can talk to him, when his wife comes up to tell them that they’re in the middle of a party. Joe starts asking about the day in question from 2017 and Barry notices the wife’s face change. Vickie (Catherine Lough Haggquist) tells the husband she will take care of it and gets him to leave them. She knows that they are looking for her and she admits to doing what happened. She saw sparks and ran. Nora tells her that she initiated a violent chain reaction in the ATM. Vickie says she was too afraid to go back because the explosion looked like she was trying to rob the bank. Joe tries to convince her to put her family into witness protection because of the killer targeting her, but her family doesn’t know about her powers. Barry tells her her family should know about her powers buts she disagrees. She tells them they’re not going anywhere and asks them to leave.

 

Cisco rushes in after getting a text from Ralph. Ralph tells him he did something awesome and shows him Kamilla and Iris discussing some of Kamilla’s photography. Cisco rushes Ralph into the hall for a sidebar. Ralph thinks that introducing Kamilla to Iris will help her be able to eventually come around S.T.A.R. Labs. Cisco tells him that no one asked him to do it. He tells Ralph it isn’t his place to try and get Kamilla on the team. Iris and Kamilla come out before he can finish fussing with Ralph. Iris tells them that Kamilla’s going to shoot something for the Citizen over the weekend. Cisco congratulates her and asks Kamilla to go out for drinks to celebrate.

 

Sherloque is talking his way through trying to figure out how Eobard Thawne’s mind by going through some of his old belongings. He finds his chair and sits in it. He also discovers a chip inside of his chair.

 

Nora asks how Vickie doesn’t know she’s killed people and Joe tells her that the former Mayor tried to keep a lot out of the media because he had meta on the payroll and didn’t want the heat. He then leaves to answer a call. Nora tells Barry that he was wrong about what he said to Vickie. It should be her choice whether she should tell her family or not. He says that keeping a secret like that from her family could make things worse. If you keep secrets from those you love, it could only hurt them in the end. Nora suddenly gets a sharp pain in her head and sees a vision of Grace outside the building because she has a connection to her mind. They both rush into the party in their Flash and XS suits. They don’t see Cicada so The Flash manages to get the majority of the party out of the way before Cicada shows up. Before XS can get Vickie and her family out, Grace shows up and blasts them. The Flash and XS try to stop her, but she grabs them up with her powers and slams them to the ground. Vickie gets up and starts using her powers while her daughter rushes to try and help her. Vickie throws the energy powered ball hitting both Grace and her daughter. She races to her side and The Flash and XS rush them out of the room.

 

Joe, Cecile and Barry are discussing Grace’s situation outside of her hospital room. Barry says they’ve tried waking her up and giving her the cure requires her consent. Also, her condition is too fragile to even try. Cecile gets a strong feeling and she says that her mind is filled with nothing but hatred. Nora comes around the corner to give an update on Vickie’s daughter, but she says the parents are not good. They hear them arguing and come running down. The father is upset and wants Vickie out, but she doesn’t want to leave. He’s frustrated about her lying about her metahuman abilities. Joe successfully gets the father to leave. Barry tells Nora that they did the right thing in keeping the family safe, but she just feels as though it made everything worse.

 

Ralph comes into Cisco’s lab and starts talking to him but he gets cut off because he’s still upset with him. Ralph thinks he’s embarrassed about the team, but Cisco’s problem is all of the crazy metahuman things. He’s just a normal man with her and not a meta. He doesn’t want her to get mixed up into this side of his life. Ralph asks him how long he thinks he can keep Kamilla out of this part of his life because he’ll always be hiding a huge part of himself.

 

Grace comes into the cabin to tell Orlin that she didn’t get Vickie. Orlin thinks it could be a good thing because he thinks the ATM accident was possibly an accident. Grace thinks he sounds like everyone else telling her it was an accident and while she starts to get angry, her scar starts to glow. Orlin tells her she needs help from Dr. Ambres, but Grace tells him that she already killed her.  He tells her hows the doctor saved her life, but Grace thinks she just destroyed Orlin’s. Orlin tells Grace that he wanted the cure and he was only trying to save her. She says he’ll do anything to save her so she knows what she has to do. She shoves him to the side and leaves while her yells after her.

 

Sherloque goes to see Gideon to insert what he found in Harrison Wells’ chair. Harrison begins drawing on a board and discussing how he has cracked the code and how the timeline can be malleable. He then asks Gideon to run the codes on the board against the ones in Nora’s journal. He finds that they are a match for Harrison’s handwriting.

 

Vickie is speaking to her daughter (Malia Baker) about why she didn’t tell her about her powers as Nora watches from the door. Barry walks up behind her and tells her she knew they’d figure it out. Nora nervously tells Barry that she needs to tell him something, but before she can confess they hear Cecile groan because of Grace’s mind getting stronger. Nora runs up and sees a vision similar to before of Grace at the hospital. Then, the dagger flies through the window. Barry races towards the room where Vickie is and manages to grab her before the dagger kills her. They here Grace from below demanding Vickie to hand herself over or her husband will be held hostage. They decide to split Vickie and her daughter up. So, XS takes Vickie and flashes her around the city as the dagger chases after them. Nora asks for help as the team is just entering the cortex.

 

Barry starts to try and calm Grace down, but she doesn’t care that it wasn’t Vickie’s fault as her parents are still dead. He tries to tell her that she can be helped with the cure, but she says there is no cure for death.

 

Nora tells them that she can’t run for much longer, so they tell her to get ready to turn down an alleyway. She does and Cisco and Ralph are waiting with a breach for them to run through while the dagger slams into the wall.

 

They make it back to S.T.A.R. Labs. Cisco and Ralph head over to the hospital where Grace has started fighting The Flash. They try to go through the breach, but as soon as it pops up Grace zaps it with her electricity, forcing them back. Before Grace can finish the job with The Flash, Orlin comes in to try and stop her. He tries to convince her that he was wrong, but she thinks because he hated them it is still the right thing to do. Orlin begins to convince her and she lets The Flash go. He tells her to let it all go before it’s too late like it is for him and she tells him he’s right. She then summons the dagger and it comes flying into his back. She tells him it is too late and extracts the dagger from his body before flying off. Orlin’s last words are, “Save my Gracie.”

 

The team is in the cortex discussing the events of the night. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) tells them that Grace is so much more powerful because the dark matter in her head let her have telekinetic powers. It’s why she more powerful than Orlin was. They think Nora’s connected to her because of the time that they spent in Nora’s brain. They all begin to leave to get drinks while Nora stands still looking worried. Barry asks her if she’s coming with them, but she hesitates so they ask if she’s okay. Cecile senses that Nora wants to tell them something. Before she can Sherloque begins to speak instead about how she wants to reveal her secret that will threaten everything and everyone. Nora tells him to stop, but he continues by discussing the sequence of events that got her to where she is now. He shares how at first she was very careful until she decided to really interfere by taking part in stopping the Thinker’s satellite. Iris tearfully looks on. He says that it didn’t make sense until he understood that it wasn’t her idea. Someone instructed her to do everything – someone who has been directing her for his own purpose. He reveals that it is Eobard Thawne who has been helping her. At that Barry stares at her with tears and confusion in his eyes. The team is also shocked. Iris asks her to tell them that it isn’t true, but Barry says she can’t because it is true. Nora starts to say how she wanted to and tried to tell them, but Barry flashes her into a pipeline cell before she can finish. She tries to get Barry to come back, but he just walks off. She apologizes for lying, but Barry continues to leave. She breaks down into tears inside the cell.
