Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I’d say my sound has a mixture in it. It has a modern country vibe, meets alternative, meets pop.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) As a kid I was inspired a lot by RnB music. As I grew older and branched out my musical tastes, I realized that I like country and rock music as well. So, I’d say my biggest influences right now are Fleetwood Mac, Morgan Wallen and Usher.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Crazy Over You.”

A) So, I was in a write with some friends, and we were tossing around different ideas, the idea of crazy over you got tossed out and I really liked the concept. I’m really into double meaning songs. So, it stuck and everybody thought it also was a fun catchy idea and we ran with it! It felt like all the pieces to the puzzle just fit perfectly and the song basically wrote itself.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) Well, this is a “get over your ex” type of song, which basically everyone can relate to. [laughs] The song basically says “ I use to be crazy about you and everything we did together, but you hurt me and now I’m just over you and everything we used to be.” I think we’ve all had to get an over an ex at some point in our lives.

Q) “Crazy Over You” was penned by you, Andrea Crisalli, Kate Ryder and ANTi. What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) So, I’m fortunate enough to be able to write and make music with these extremely talented people. Most of the time we will throw around title ideas, and then ANTi will start to play some guitar melodies to see how we’re feeling. After we agree on a topic, we basically just get to work on writing the lyrics. Sometimes they come fast, sometimes it takes a while. But for this track specifically, I feel like it wrote itself pretty quickly.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I do have somewhat of a hand in it, however my producer, ANTi, is amazing at what he does and I put my full trust into him. He makes the songs great and knows exactly what they need. Usually when he’s done mixing the song, he will send me a copy to see how I feel about it and we will make any adjustments then.

Q) Is this new song a teaser for a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) I definitely do feel an album coming in the near future, however for now this is just another single. But I have plenty of unreleased songs, so those will be coming out sooner than later!

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I really enjoy performing at the True Music Room, mainly because it was the first place I performed at in Nashville and the guy who runs it always treats me well. I recently was given the opportunity to perform at Ole Smokey Distillery for CMA Fest which was absolutely incredible.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would love to get on a song with Gavin DeGraw or Morgan Wallen. Those guys are awesome! I’m also a big Stevie Nicks fan, so her too.

Q) What artist/musician are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I actually listen to a lot of Fleetwood Mac. I really like the nostalgic feeling you get when listening to their music, and Stevie’s voice just has that tone that you can’t replicate. I really admire their lyrics style as well as their guitar melodies.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Being on social media is a mandatory thing now as a musician. A part of me wishes things were how they used to be before social media, but you have to roll with the times. I think being on social media gives you a chance to connect with fans that you might never get to perform for. It also gives artists and chance to shoot live videos and talk to their fans which is pretty cool.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I’d really just like to say thank you. Thank you for even giving my music a chance, because their is so much new music coming out every single day. So I truly appreciate your support and I strive to release good music that y’all can relate to.
