Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I’m currently filming a murder mystery show for ITV, in which I play a gardener who may or may not be the killer. It’s been a blast so far.

Q) Please tell us the premise for the show “The Crossing” and about your character Marshall.

A) “The Crossing” follows refugees who have travelled from the future to escape a war-torn America. My character is from the wrong side of the tracks. He meets Hannah (Kelley Missal), one of the refugees, and all of the sudden his world is turned upside down.

Q) What made you want to be a part of the series?

A) I read the pilot and was blown away. The scene where everyone washes up on the shore was so intense and visceral. I’ve always been a huge fan of Steve Zahn so that was the icing on the cake.

Q) Was there anything you added to Marshall that may not have been in the original breakdown for the role?

A) Well, the character I auditioned for and the character I ended up playing were worlds apart. The only thing they shared was a name. I showed up to set with a beard and a more mature attitude and because of that they decided to make the character older and a bit more menacing.

Q) What have you found challenging about your portrayal?

A) The biggest challenge was perhaps staying grounded in the character when sci-fi elements come into play. It was very important for me not to play the drama and to keep the character believable and relatable.

Q) Your costar Grant Harvey mentioned that there was a love triangle between Hannah, Marshall and Roy. What is it about Hannah that draws Marshall to her?

A) There’s something about Hannah that Marshall just can’t put his finger on. She’s unlike anyone he’s ever met before. Before Hannah, he was lost.

Q) Grant also mentioned you roomed together during filming. How did the two of shake off the stress of a long/intense day of filming?

A) There was this fantastic Greek place down the road that we became regulars at and a few other spots where we would drink. We also became professional shuffleboard players. Vancouver is one hell of a city and Grant was a great roomie.

Q) What have been some of your most memorable moments from filming “The Crossing?”

A) I had a week off from filming, so I drove from Vancouver to Calgary through Banff. I stayed in a cabin in the woods and walked around Lake Louise in the snow. It was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Q) What do you think it is about the show that will make it a fast fan favorite?

A) It’s one of those shows that always leave you on a cliffhanger. There are so many questions and you’ll be hooked each week as gradually the mystery unfolds.

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you looking forward to the instant fan feedback you will be receiving to the episodes?

A) It’s really encouraging after an episode to get so much positive feedback from audiences. That said, I do try to restrict how much time I spend looking at my phone.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you as always for your support. I will work my ass off to make you all proud and keep you entertained!
