Top 3 Moments – 6/9 – 6/14

Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments, so keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!

Drama: Pose, “Acting Up” – Hart Island

The opening scenes of Pose were some of the most emotional of the season premiere. When you start crying barely five minutes into the show, you know you’re about to be in for a great episode. The trip Pray Tell (Billy Porter) and Blanca (Mj Rodriguez) took to Hart Island was such a beautiful and heartbreaking moment. Hearing how the people who were cast in the field came to be buried in that place was troubling. Seeing the wooden boxes saddened me, but the scene was definitely a special moment.

Reality TV: Little Women: Atlanta, “Crazy, Stupid Love” – The almost double wedding.

After many weeks of wedding preparation drama, Amanda finally made it down the aisle. Her wedding was gorgeous and it was good to see all the girls that came out for her special day. I’m glad that drama didn’t ruin her day. It would have been nice to see the sisters walk down the aisle together, though. 

Sci-fi/Fantasy: Black Mirror, “Striking Vipers” – A twisty ending.

Theo (Nikki Beharie) and Danny (Anthony Mackie) exchanging ring boxes to later go out to meet new people was not something I saw coming. The questions that the scene brought to mind about monogamy and relationships in general was overwhelming. I had to stop and think about the events that were about to take place. Mackie and Beharie are a pair with great chemistry. Watching them play off of each other throughout the episode really brought those last moments together. Another fabulous episode of Black Mirror.
