Top 3 TV Moments – April 25 – April 30
By: Malasha Parker
Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!
Drama: Navillera, “Episode 12” – You were finally able to soar.
I could talk about how absolutely stunning and inspiring this series is all day. From start to finish this show delivered beautiful acting, writing and cinematography. My favorite scene is at the end of episode 8 when Chae Rok (Song Kang) dances for Mr. Sim (Park In-hwan) in the snow to bring his memories back. The finale also delivered another gorgeous dance scene that made me shed unending tears. Mr. Sim was finally able to soar and perform Swan Lake on stage. The actors put on an amazing performance and the cinematography highlighted the moment extremely well. Finally getting to see the two characters make their debut as ballet dancers together and share that moment was a satisfying ending for all the hard work and setbacks they endured. I highly recommend watching this series. It will spark your spirit and give you the drive that says it’s never too late to try that thing you’ve always wanted to do. You may find more than what you essentially set out for and change your life for the better.
Comedy/Reality TV: Big Shot, “TCKS” – Beaching with the girls
The moment in this week’s episode that was very heartwarming and nice to see was Emma (Sophia Mitri Schloss) hanging out with the girls from the basketball team on the beach. She immediately fit right in with the other girls. It was nice to see them right off the bat decide not to go the negative route and make her an outsider. I think her transition into this new school and life will be good and help her get even closer with her father who tried to spend only a certain amount of time with her because he didn’t know how to spend meaningful time with her.
Sci-fi/Fantasy: Invincible, “Episode 8” – No longer a father to his son
I did not expect to love Invincible as much as I did, but OMG this show was great! The finale showed us a devastating end to a family unit when Nolan (J.K. Simmons) decided to tell Mark (Steven Yeun) the truth about him being a Viltrumite and his real feelings about his family. Omni-Man continuously fought with Invincible by putting him through harsh encounters and causing him to kill many citizens. According to Omni-Man, they don’t matter. But throughout the entire fight Invincible never gave up on wanting to save innocent people and his father. The fight ended with Omni-Man leaving Earth, but he’ll definitely be back.
