Top 3 TV Moments – April 4 – April 9
By: Malasha Parker
Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!
Drama: This Is Us, “Both Things Can Be True” – Miscommunication
Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) had to realize what was making her so on edge about Tess (Eris Baker) and her new relationship, while Tess had to realize that even though her mother was having some difficulties that didn’t give her the right to disrespect her mother. After Beth talks with her mother, she speaks with Tess about how she is trying and she doesn’t want her to feel uncomfortable or like she can’t be herself around her. The two have a conversation and realize that they may not be completely on the same page right now, but they will always be there for each other and their love for one another won’t change.
Comedy/Reality TV: Family Reunion, “Remember When M’Dear Changed History?” – Know your history!
M’Dear (Loretta Devine) tells the community stories about pieces of history that happened in an old hotel building that was in danger of being demolished. With these stories, she draws in a crowd and ends up saving the building from being demolished. I had a lot of fun watching this episode and seeing the town wanting to know more about the history of the building was nice. Like M’Dear says, “You should pay attention to your history!”
Sci-fi/Fantasy: Kung Fu, “Pilot” – A fierce beginning.
I was hooked from the opening scenes of the episode. “Kung Fu”didn’t waste any time hopping right into the story and moving things along. Nicky (Olivia Liang) deciding to stay in China and learn Kung Fu and more was great to watch. Seeing the moment that sets up the storyline for the season was very well done and made me intrigued to watch more. I can’t wait to see how everything is connected.
