Top 3 TV Moments – August 15– August 20
By: Malasha Parker
Each week I’ll be picking the best drama, comedy or reality TV and sci-fi/fantasy moments from the shows of the prior week. They may sometimes be equipped with some of your favorite ships or tear-jerking moments. So, keep reading if you are still not over what happened on your favorite TV show this week!
Drama: Fantasy Island, “His and Hers/The Heartbreak Hotel” – Mending a broken heart.
Daphne (Odette Annable) and Zev (Dave Annable) had a wild trip that, ultimately, served the purpose they sought after. The couple took a unique ride inside of each other’s minds and bodies. The moment above the trees where the two talk was their reconciliation that gave them the clarity in their relationship that was needed. It was a strange episode and situation, to say the least, but the story of the couple and their struggles really stood out.
Comedy/Reality TV: Brooklyn Nine-NIne, “Blue Flu” – This conversation is very frustrating.
Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher) tries to figure out a way to stop the “Blue Flu” – officers pretending to be sick and calling out. He eventually succeeds and negotiates that the police force could work better with fewer police. After witnessing lazy police and the statistics of the policing coming out with better results than before, he was able to stop the unnecessary Blue Flu from continuing and causing more problems to the precincts than needed.
Sci-fi/Fantasy: Stargirl, “Summer School: Chapter Two” – A real legacy!
After Courtney (Brec Bassinger) has been carrying out unwarranted dislike for Jennie (Ysa Penarejo), she realizes that she was so hard on her because Jennie was a “true” legacy and she wasn’t. With Jennie being given the Green Lantern ring because it was passed down from her by her father, she was able to do more and Courtney felt that gave her a bit of an advantage over herself. Courtney apologizes and realizes that Jennie is also going through something since she only wanted to find her brother, but ended up inheriting powers instead. This was a great moment for viewers and characters to realize that everybody is going through something different no matter how great they may seem on the outside.
